I played the original Skyrim so I already kind of knew what to expect from this game. But I was pleasantly surprised how well this has translated into a standalone game and it still had a lot of new twists that kept the story very fresh. If the Idea of a historical mystery game sounds at all appealing to you I would recommend you don’t spoil anything and play this game!

I've almost figured out the controls I think.

Mount and Blade is one of the best sandbox RPGs you can play right now. While the game itself looks dated and not very appealing, it contains some really solid gameplay that will suck you in. The base game is varied and engaging enough for hours of gameplay, you can be a Knight, A mercenary a lesser lord of a rebel king and loads more and each route feels organic and satisfying to play.

The game does have its flaws a lot of the areas are very repetitive copy and paste castles and towns and combat for the late game is very easy once you understand the system. There also isn't a great amount to do other than fight people.

To add to this however the modding community is great and more than makes up for any failures in the base game, in my opinion.

Jumped down some stairs and broke my legs, then got eaten by zombies, 10/10 would play again.
