I played Rift since the beta, I usually play rift without steam so I could've gotten more hours on record but anyway, rift. This game doesn't really have a good first impression but once you get the feel of it, it gets addicting and can be a legitimite replacement for what ever MMO you are playing now. (WoW.. Cough.)

It has a unique class system that pulled me right away when I was playing in the beta. The balancing of the classes are mostly turned towards the PvE side of the game. PvP you ask?.. Well, PvP isn't Rift's strong suit... at all. While it can still be fun, the imbalances can make it frustrating and the enormous amount of 'bad' players can really make you bite your lip. I feel as though rift's PvP is more balanced for group play than solo. Also Facerolling is quite common, so it's best to bring a pre-made party.

The PvE side of this game though is exellent, it really makes you think what is the best spec for each situation you are in. Actually, the class system makes the game, it is very good. Once you are starting this game, it is wise to not stick to one build; make a TON of them and make the right spec you see fit to your tastes and works in your favor. There is a lot of things going on the map at all times. Rifts, are a key machanic which the name of the game implies. They pop randomly on the map and when you complete one you could get some wonderful goodies in return. An other cool thing are invasions that wonder across the map, making the game feel alive. But during an event, these invasions can get hairy and could literally conquer a whole area. Your quest hubs will be invaded and even main cities. This encourages group play which is very nice as well. You'll usually be grouped up automatically and fight against the baddies is some type of full blown war.

Speaking of wars, this game is pretty CPU intensive so big wars might make you lag, a lot. Any good mid ranged GPU will run this game well but don't skimp on the CPU, god help you if you don't.

I would love to write more but I am pretty busy at the moment, it was nice to test this steam grading system out.

PS: The ingame store is pretty nice, they put a lot of work into it. Also nothing in the store will give you SUPER MAX ENDGAME MEGA GEARZ. It's mostly costumes and funiture for your ingame home. The lockboxes don't have anything worthwhile inside, though it is good for gamblers or whatever.
