On March 31, 2020, Anubis was added to official matchmaking in Casual, Deathmatch, and Scrimmage game modes.
On April 10, 2020, Anubis moved from Scrimmage to Competitive mode.
On May 3, 2021, Anubis was removed from the game.
On August 16, 2022, Anubis was re-added to official matchmaking in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch game modes.
On November 18, 2022, Anubis was added to the official Valve map pool, replacing Dust II.
