I originally left a negative review because of a crashing issue that resulted in me losing my save data.

The developers have fixed the crashing now and game is rock solid even with me collapsing large sections of ships at once which is fun.

What an excellent piece of work this game is.

I first brought this game a couple of years ago in early access and at the time it did not really grab me, and I ended up shelving it for a long time.

Recently heard that the game had left early access and decided to try it out again and I am impressed.

Pros:
- Pretty much has all the mechanics that made Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 & 2 so great and expands on those concepts with new mechanics such as distributing goods to the shops in your parks, janitors removing waste, providing facilities for your staff to rest and train and then having to hide all this infrastructure from view of your guests to not to ruin their immersion!
- Roller coaster designer uses the older system of the older RTC games but adds the ability to customise the size of track pieces which gives more freedom and allows for smooth roller coasters. Not as flexible as the spline system seen in other titles but still pretty good.
- It is easy to achieve an aesthetically pleasing parks in this game quickly. If you are more focused of the management aspect park builders like me but still like to have a nice-looking park, then you won’t find yourself getting frustrated spending hours and hours trying to make a park entrance that looks half decent like you would in planet coaster!
- Making your park look good is important from a management standpoint as guests will give a rating for how well decorated it is.

Cons:
- This game uses a grid system which is needed for many of the mechanics in the game but if you are more of a creative type then this does mean that you do not get the flexibility of Planet Coaster. This also makes it more difficult for those who like to replicate their favourite coasters from real life into the game.

Overall, I can recommend this game to anyone who loves the original 3 Roller Coaster Tycoon games (especially 1 & 2) or anyone who enjoys management games in general.

Also, if you are terrible at designing coasters then don’t worry: the pre-made in-game blueprints are stunning and the community can also share blueprints on the workshop.

The game is very enjoyable to play in its current state! There were a few issues in the beginning but Egosoft have been prompt and addressed the major bugs and adjustments.

I previously could not get into the X series gameplay because I struggled with controlling my ships and property, but the new map system has made that aspect of the game much easier for me.

The station building system works very well and the plot sizes can be up to 20km squared so it would be fun to try building some sort of super station as a late game goal.

Ship control feels nice playing with just keyboard and mouse, but I have not tried playing with a gamepad or full on HOTAS yet.

Large space battles are enjoyable, but I do feel that the standard weapons are underpowered where missiles and torpedoes are very powerful (and expensive) in comparison. Personally, I like seeing big cannons and lasers, so this is just a personal preference of mine.

Managing traders and miners is not too difficult to learn and now they do indeed provide good income, but I hope that they will expand on the options of control such as forbidding them from entering certain systems that are hostile.

Overall good space game, looking forward to seeing what Egosoft has instore for it!
