A kitty with a goatee is holding a gun to my head and demanding I write this review; I don't know what she wants but here it is

In all seriousness, this is a really great incremental/idle game. To put it into perspective, I have seven hundred DAYS of playtime (including offline/idle time) on the original Kongregate version. The dev, 4G, is incredibly receptive to community input and has done his absolute best to ensure that multiple playstyles and preferences are all catered to. Sure, there's some minor gripes I might have still, but the overwhelming majority of my complaints have been neatly handled over time.

Yeah, it has in-app purchases. No, you will never feel compelled to buy them (unless you wanna support 4G, who is a Cool Dude). You earn sufficient amounts of the premium currency (Arbitrary Points) just from playing the game to buy many of the convenience features offered, and your AP gains go up (as do all the numbers) as you progress.

I play a lot of incremental/idle/etc. games, but none of them really has had the staying power of NGU. And I mean c'mon, it's free, what are you going to lose by giving it a try?

Imagine Super Metroid, but instead of a woman in a power armor suit, Samus is now a luchadore wrestler. Who can fly. Now season liberally with gorgeous art, fantastic music, a healthy dash of jumping puzzles, and stir well. That's Guacamelee.

Now go buy it.
