I kinda wish there was a "not sure whether to recommend" option. The art style is really nice, but the gameplay is just okay, and it's painfully easy.

Admittedly I've played a lot of "survivor-likes"... But something just feels wrong about winning your first run in one of these games, I gave it another run on a higher ascension to see if I just happened to get lucky and... killed the boss with literally one hit.

I think it's got potential, but definitely needs some big balance changes to make it feel more like an accomplishment to beat it.

Can't really complain given the price! Hope the dev keeps at it :)

Brilliant little Roguelite/resource management game with some TD elements. 100% worth checking it out

Inside - My 6am review

Wow. Where to start...

Inside is a game I had very little expectation for. I bought it on sale for ~£3 on a whim after seeing it in a video, and at 4am I couldn't sleep so naturally binged the whole game.

For some reason, after opening the game I decided that this would be the first game in long time that I would give my full attention; no YouTube in the background, no music, no chatting on Discord, just me and the game. Man am I glad I did this. 4 hours later and I've beat the game in one sitting and then went back to find the couple of secrets I missed.

I loved this game. This game made me feel things and think about things that few games have ever managed. The opening few sequences had me feeling genuinely afraid, for a long time I wasn't aware if you even could die, but every time it felt close my heart jumped.

I urge you to go in without spoilers, provide your full attention to the game and give it the chance to impress you as much as it did me. A great argument for 'games as art'.

TL;DR:
Game's pretty cool

A satisfying conclusion to the Dark Souls trilogy.

Cons:
- As a veteran Souls player I'd say that this is on the easier side (for this series, at least).
- It is relatively short
- Some performance issues

Pros:
- Excellent story, From continues to give us just enough to intrigue us but leave enough to the imagination.
- Solid gameplay, it's a Souls game. Not much to say here.
- Music and visuals are the best in the series IMO.
- Returning fans have plenty to be excited about, new players can treat it as a standalone.

Overall a really solid game, my favourite of the year so far. Worth noting that on my system (FX-6300@4.5Ghz, GTX 970) there's some issues with framerate dipping to around 40s, which might be fine for some but personally I found it a bit too choppy at times. There were issues with crashing too, but as best as I can tell it's been patched.

One of the best games I've ever played. At first the game seems a little alien and unwelcoming; this is fitting for the game to come. After a considerable number of playthroughs of this game I'm still interested in playing more; 35 hours in and I still havent unlocked every character, let alone every item.

Everything about this game just works. The music is great, the controls are solid using keyboard or an xbox controller, the levels are interesting, but most importantly the gameplay is, well, fun!

It doesn't take itself too seriously, but provides a nice level of challange; especially on higher difficulty levels.

The only downside to this game is that (at the time of writing this) there are several notable bugs. Hamachi must be used for online play due to a bug with the in game system, and some other in game bugs happen when using certain settings, but there's nothing particularly game breaking, they're more of an annoyance.
