Updated review as I'm preparing to finish the game: I've played the Gestalt version of the original and the sqrt (1.5) update is everything the original game was and more. The updated visuals, combat, performances and soundtrack. New small story scenes, a whole new chapter of the story and a whole new ending I'm very excited to reach round out and elevate an already incredible story.
Unfortunately, to run the game properly, I needed a mod, which you can find here. The mouse and keyboard controls aren't the best and the game has crashed on me a few times, so I can't really recommend the game despite how much I love it until the problems are fixed. Or, if you're getting the games, you need to be aware of the issues.

An awesome game. Hard to get into and a lot to learn, but worth learning. Fun characters, amazing music, and a great example of the developers and community working together to better the game. Rollback revived this game.

Update: all the updates have been completed now! The lobby and matchmaking systems have been vastly improved

WarrOrb is a very fun metroidvania style game where you control a soul trapped in an orb, rolling and bouncing your way through a ruined world. And you definitely feel that way, the world and the music make for an excellent atmosphere. The puzzles and combat are challenging, you will die a lot, but it's very rewarding to master each combat and each puzzle. And each puzzle and combat brings you closer to the mysteries the game presents to you and that will gnaw at the back of your mind. I've been enjoying my time with the game and hope you will too

A very atmospheric fun little platformer. Lovely music and character designs and hints of an intriguing story. Give it a go if you like platformers. Or even if you don't

A fun game and a great intro to fighting games. Easy to get a hang of, but with a lot of depth and room for growth. Plus,as a Dragon Ball game it looks stunning and is in a way a love letter to the series. I heartily recommend

With the final DLC out soon and me finishing my time with the game, I decided to put down some thoughts on it, This game should not work. There are so many unfinished and unpolished pieces of it and yet they string together into an amazing experience. Final Fantasy 15 tells the story of Noctis, a prince on a roadtrip with his bodyguards who discovers that his kingdom was taken and his father is dead. He undertakes a quest to take his rightful place as king and avenge his father and his kingdom. The crux of the experience is in the main party, the bodyguards who are so much more than the prince's companions, and in the journey of Noctis growing into his role as king. Their conversations throughout the quests, both story and sidequests, their banter during combat and the pictures that Prompto takes throughout their journey, all accompanied by gorgeous music and scenery make this a worthy tale. Yes, the open world comes across as empty, the side quests are repetitive and the second half of the game sets you on a straight and very fast path and it gets messy. But the main theme and story are strong all the way to an amazing ending that very well may be my favourite in the series. And the combat is plain fun. The DLC kept getting better as they were released and I have hopes for the Ardyn one. If you like Final Fantasies, or good stories with relatable characters in general, I'd recommend this game to you

This game is just plain fun. The amount of customisations and ways to play the game is mindboggling. You can enjoy powering through waves enemies, or go fishing and mining. Also, slaying giant space zombies is an option. And there are hoverboards. I repeat, hoverboards. It feels like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Tne npcs are charming, the lore is intriguing, although it takes a while to actually get to the lore and the story. Also, the game can be rough when you are just starting out, but the wikis and community are your friends. And all of this is free. Can't beat that.

This is not a game. This is a work of art. What presents itself as an action RPG with a battle android in a revealing outfit is actually something so much deeper.
Let's start with the gameplay. Yes, this is an action RPG, but the gameplay seemlessly switches to a twinstick shooter, a sidescrolling platformer and even bullet hell. It's fun to play and the animations in combat are quite a sight.
The story is amazing. It twists and turns and you basically have to play through three different stories to see how it all ends. And it is worth it. The less you know going in, the better. It's one hell of a ride from start to finish. The characters are worth getting to know and you will enjoy every moment you spend with them.
The open world isn't that big, but it has quite a few nooks and crannies for you to explore. There is a quite a bit of backtracking, but I was supprised more than once by the things I missed in the areas, so it wasn't bad. Another part of the world is the music. It follows the story and changes as events are happening, mirroring them. The tracks themselves are beautifull and make every major moment that much greater.
The only problem this game has is the low quality of the port. Don't even try playing it without the FAR mod. I played with a keyboard and the controls were not the best, but they were managable. If you can play with a controller.
This is one of the best games I have ever played. You might not like it, but at least give it a shot. Because, it's a golden experience you might learn something from.

This game is amazing. It is great for both first timers and people returning to the series. And don't let the rumors put you off. The game isn't as hard as you think. And trust me, when you find yourself in the intricate dance that is one of the boss fights, you just might find your heart pounding as you roll through the bosses attacks and counter with one of your own. It is a rush that few games can make you feel.

The gameplay is fast and tight. Mistakes can be made, but you will pay for each and every one of them. The world, scenery and music are the most beautiful in the series. More than once you will find yourself gazing at an incredible view. The bosses and enemies are well designed and a joy to fight. The story stands on its own, but it also has quite a few callbacks to the earlier games.
I can only think of nice things to say about this game. It is a well designed, albeit sometimes frustrating game, with a world and gameplay that few other games can match. Do yourself a favor and try it sometime.

I played it after the first patch, but it has improved more and more ever since. This is the definitive version of a masterpiece. A timeless story (pun intended), with an amazing cast of characters. The atmosphere, music and eras in which the story takes place are awe inspiring to this day.
The price is just right. Treat yourself and get this game. Most of the bugs have been fixed, and there are more updates on the way.
