They didn't lie when they say God-like Rouge-like

This game is a masterpiece.
From combat, exploration, lore, soundtrack, and progression.
Truly the best metroidvania game yet.

A solid turn-based JRPG where you play as 8 travelers each with their own story across the continent of Orsterra.

Pros:

• Great visual art style combining 2D spirte in 3D environment (HD-2D is what they call it)
  
• Phenomenal soundtrack to jam along all throughout the game
  
• Interesting battle system where you can boost your abilities to hit harder
  
• A Secondary Job system to keep the battle fresh and fun
  
• Amazing story at the end to tie all loose ends after beating every final chapter of the travelers
  
• Beautiful voice acting for the characters

Cons:

• The story of each travelers are a bit short and don't intertwine with other traveler you play as
  
• The game doesn't reveal how each travelers story plays a part until the very last challenge
  
• A very minor plot hole about a certain character

Game is fun and entertaining for people who likes this genre. While Octopath Traveler is a solid game for the genre, some story details and the significance of the travelers don't exist outside the banter they have after each story cutscenes. I'm sure the next installment will improve on this aspect. Octopath Traveler got (8.5/10) in my book and totally worth it for the fans.

The whole planet is your enemy and they will try with all they can to defeat you. As you survive longer on the planet, the enemies get tougher which spawns elite versions of regular mobs and sometimes bosses too. Just like the first one, you get to pick different character called "Survivors" with different set of abilities and each also differs in playstyle. The difference in playstyle makes the replay-ability fresh and fun. The rouge-like aspect also feels really satisfying with items which ranges from common to rare which all STACKS with one another. The lore in this game is not told like traditional story-telling, the logbook is your friend in this one,but since this is still on early-access, the lore's still incomplete (duh). It's Risk of Rain in 3D, same core mechanic with a few tweaks to match the 3D environment.

You play as edgeboi brother to prove your edgeboi younger brother innocence of a crime he didn't commit by traveling across the realms.

The point of this game is to get stronger to kill the monster that rekt you early on. Then get even stronger to kill that monster even faster. A bit grindy but fun espescially with friends.

* Don't mind about the mixed review this game has. The issues mosty has been fixed anyway
