TL:DR game left me with a long face

One of the all time great role playing games if not the all time greatest, though I prefer the sequel. Don't be afraid to save scum and don't play it (completely) blind. Once you make it to level 2 you'll stop getting one shotted by wolves. Enhanced Edition adds some nice quality of life stuff like letting you put a blue overlay over the map to see where exactly you're going without breaking anything.

Bounty Hunter shows up to kill him.

Kill bounty hunter.
Get his loot.
Artist thanks me then dies from exhaustion.
Get his emeralds.
Evil mage decides to leave party because helping artist quest put my reputation at good.
Reload.
Do whole thing over again but first murder random miner to appease Edwin.
10/10 would kill for Edwin again.
