I gotta say this is one of the few games that I genuinely didn't enjoy. The most enjoyable part was propably the first five hours of gameplay since it's the only section which actually felt polished and original with interesting gameplay mechanics and the classic Subnautica vibe. After that most areas get bland and boring, the worst two offenders being claustrophobic spaghetti tunnels (aka a large portion of caves) and literally every single overwater area, since these were a nightmare to navigate even with the speeder. But even aside from that most other areas didn't really offer that much apart from looking cool, as they were both literally and figuratively too shallow , and seemed to only server as checkpoints for the abominable fetch quest which was the "story". Consequently the game just felt empty, with your only purpose being to run from area to area trying to complete the story, while completely loosing the sense of mystery and exploration that the original provied.

Now, even though I only ranted about the game this entire time, I'd still say that it can be a decent or even good experience for a lot of people since it also provides a ton of cool and interesing content that I didn't mention here. However, since I played and very much enjoyed the original Subnautica this game was simply too much of a letdown for me, doing more wrong than right.
