Take two of the absolute most opposite mechanical bases, rhythm games and Roguelikes, and mash it together. What happened? Possibly one of the most intriguing, entertaining, and downright addictive puzzle games ever made. A rather interesting soundtrack drives the game well, as well as support for custom soundtracks as well, and reinforces the rhythm half of this game. Being a Roguelike, a full clear of the game can happen inside of an hour or two, but why stop there? A myriad of options and mutator modes keep the experience fresh along with a rather robust random generation engine behind it. I have yet to get truly repetitive experiences, but it also seems to be its biggest flaw. The randomization can completely stack the deck against you, creating some tough scenarios that usually end in a badly timed death. That being said, the ultra-simple controls combined with the rhythm-based score mechanics creates one extremely charming ride. Worth the price for a fan of anything close to this style of game.

An almost instant classic delivered by Telltale Games yet again. This point-and-click adventure game is an excellent primer on the Fables comic universe and a phenomenal Neo-Noir story to boot. Atmosphere, solid voice acting, and aesthetics are king in this game. It's not a difficult game, nor a long one, but it's worth multiple runs to get all of the different outcomes possible.
