Hey, I saw your post(s) on the Age of Empires 3 Remastered forum. Can't reply as I don't own the game. I think you got away with the whole being logged off of Steam issue on other games because they are not Steam dependent (such as Arma 1 and 2). Meaning they can run without Steam. You could launch those games from the install folder without starting Steam.

Anyways, you could try running Steam in offline mode. As far as I remember, you can still connect through LAN that way (it's been awhile, though). You won't be kicked off when others log in with your account. In case you are unaware, you go offline by clicking on the 'Steam' tab on the far upper left hand corner of the Steam window. Should be the second option from the drop down menu.
