We follow the words of our lord of the land, the Landlord. We smoke weed. We fill our bellies with diet soda. And we most definitely, 100%, play Burnout Revenge for the PS2. No objections.

The Matriarch's Manual
Greetings from this infinite serene void. The name is Kaylin, so feel free to use such... unless you know my deadname, in which case, I know where you live; you know way too much to be kept alive, I'm like the secret service of the LGBTQ+ community. I'll be at your doorstep momentarily with law enforcement and an arsenal of ranged weapons. I'm kidding, of course... I'm stuck in space here, floating...

Who am I, you ask? Well, I'm a 22 year old transfem lass who somehow went from being on aussie soil to feeling like she's stuck in a star-spangled limbo. I have many a-quirk, such being that I'm queer, and host a natural-born talent which being that I have no allistic traits, whatsoever (🎵 insane in the mebrane...), so expect me to think you're like my best friend only 10 minutes into me knowing who you are, no exceptions... unless you're a creep, then attempt to stay away from me with a 500ft pole.

I've been gaming for most my life, ever since I was a wee lil' infant who chronically mudpanted themselves to make progress in the main storyline that we call 'life'. Gaming definitely got me through hard times growing up (until someone took over and put all my skill points in the 'trauma' skill... had to reset my character development which I'm still reworking to this day). If I could turn this game off, I would. What were the developers thinking when adding me in? Took them 2002 updates to make a mistake.

I have too many preferred game series' to list, but some notable ones being the Sonic the Hedgehog series (which if you met me when I made an account back in 2013... thank you for babysitting me and I am sorry), Persona series (I am thou, thou can see why), Burnout series (you can feintly hear Avril Lavigne's 'Girlfriend' playing in the background and the sound of boosting cars), Dragon Ball series (rest in peace Toriyama-senpai), and Tekken series (when can I throw MY dad off a cliff, huh?). I also play VR... a little TOO much, for the record... just look at those VRChat hours I have! Someone has ERP'd, that's for sure... I need to touch grass, yes.

If you like this profile that certainly could get my personal information doxxed and posted on every corner of the internet. please be sure to absolutely consume that 'Add Friend' button, and, if you get sick of my sh!t, regurgitate that 'Block' button! I won't take offence (but I will defend, en-garde). Now let me flex my mid Personal Computer specs that can run enough for me to not cry at my desk and want to die because my job doesn't pay me enough to save money properly.

This game is, without a doubt, THE best turn-based RPG in gaming history, dare I say, one of the best video games of all time. I cannot fathom enough how perfect this game is to me personally, and how much it changed my outlook on life for the better in terms of myself. With the re-release on all modern platforms, more and more people can finally have accessibility to experience this astonishing masterpiece of fiction. My first time playing this game was back on the PlayStation 4 version, and picking it up back then at the foot-end of 2020 was an amazing choice that I do not regret.

I was immediately drawn in by the vibrant palette style of the game, how connected I became with the characters (no matter how small or large of a role they played), and how the beginning of the story throws you into a loop with making you play a section of the late-game with no context; it gives you a teasing taste for what to expect! Whilst the game does start out slow with the Kamoshida arc of the game, it definitely picks up slowly after that. The amount of possibilities with what Persona's you can fuse together, the strategies you can form with each party member in a group of four, having to analyze weaknesses and resistances on your enemies, and how attached you just get to the world this game has created.

A select few portions of this game, even by the end when the credits rolled for the first time, I was in absolute tears. I was sad it was over when I finished for the first time. 150 hours dedicated to a game that, whilst playing, made me re-evaluate my own identity and how I perceive reality, how I want my freedom too, and how I view society. Post-persona depression is real; and you will be hanging to do a New Game+ playthrough immediately. I say hold off until you've processed what you've just played... or do what I did and replay the game a week after completing it a first time!

I have played countless times through this game since, spanning about seven or eight times in the last 3 years. Currently doing a second playthrough on PC. I've completed all the achievements, Thieves Den awards, completed the Persona compendium, you name it. You bet I've almost finished doing it all again, too! Don't skip out on this game. It's worth every minute. Thank you, ATLUS, for creating something so timeless that it has taken my heart, just like the motto of the Phantom Thieves themselves.
