You've heard of needing to make a 3rd party account on launch. But how about letting players play the game for three months on a trial period before forcing them to make a 3rd party account without telling anyone this was ever on the horizon. I don't support games that require you to make a brand new account with an entirely new service and using the Steam store as a glorified billboard to walk you there.

Uplay, Origin, Epic, and things of their ilk can all go to hell. At least the Helldivers are fully equipped to get where they're going.

It's an interesting game. I'm not actually sure that I would recommend anyone else play it but the two hours I spent on it weren't the worst two hours I've spent on something either. Not sure if the random text gibberish had a narrative purpose or if they just phoned in the translation at the end.

Additionally, I was streaming it to a friend of mine when I played so now I can say 'Woof' at them to make us both enter a whole world of discomfort and disdain that far exceeds the normal cringe from a friend barking at you.

I was able to get all the achievements pretty quickly.

Games was definitely bundled with Resident Evil 3 Remake. There are so many issues, it's quite honestly a wonder what's going on.

For starters, I typically love Capcom games, they make fantastic ports to PC these days, a huge fan of Resident Evil (Including Resident Evil 5 and 6, yes I know I'm probably the only one who does.) I loved Project X Zone, big on Street Fighter and Megaman games (If they'd ever release more.) When I say this, it's actually with a ton of disappointment especially considering I loved what this game is bundled with, Resident Evil 3 Remake despite it's 6 hour length.

This game is garbage, to put it bluntly. Inside of here is a fantastic game concept, that is marred and bogged down with some weird sense of complacency or sheer apathy by the developers.

What the game does right:

Love having skill based survivors like hero types that bring something new and unique to each match.

The leveling system sounds great, to have some sense of progression as you get better and better.

Mastermind is a very unique concept to add to the asymmetrical horror genre.

When things work well and games are balanced it is a lot of fun being either a Survivor or Mastermind.

Heaven help me for saying this, but as far as loot boxes go, these are an example of least cancerous. The pulls don't do duplicates so you'll get what you want eventually if you keep getting more boxes.

What the game does wrong.

Queues that can last 20+ minutes at worst, or averaging about 10-15 minutes at best. You can easily wait 15 minutes for a sub 5 minute game.

They tried to help the queue times by removing skill or level based queue so now max levels are with new people.

If you're a low level and want to level up, you gotta pray you get carried by higher level survivors or lose enough matches to get into a decent level through sheer tenacity.

No anti-cheat in place. Cheaters run rampant already and if you don't want to play with them you get penalized for dropping early.

No real signs of genuine support or balancing in this game past the Jill update.

The in-game voice chat really sucks, people are always way too quiet and often disable it by default. I know it's a fast paced game but there is no option to talk by text if you wanted to.

No dedicated servers, only peer to peer.

The game is only available by bundle with Resident Evil 3 and has no store page. If you want to play with your friends, you have to convince them to buy Resident Evil 3 for $60. It feels like it would make more sense to separate RE3 and Resistance, make Resistance $20 and RE3 $40 but I'm not a game dev so I'm not sure if that's even fiscally viable. Either way, they really put themselves in a super awkward position with this.

The leveling system takes too long. You have six survivors soon to be seven, and four masterminds. You have to level them all individually of each other. If you want it to not be a total grind each time you level a new character you buy RP boosters, their version of a mobile game nudge to try and convince you to spend more money. Which is funny because there are already screenshots of people claiming they hacked the game to give themselves infinite RP boosters and I haven't heard anything about them being handled. Looks like they smuggled hundreds of EXP for free and no consequence.

There's a couple of other issues in this game, and most of them can be fixed because at its core is a really fun fast paced game that can bring something new to the genre it's trying to enter. However I really can't personally overlook all these problems that stack up that make it a truly unenjoyable experience more times than not. The shining moments when this game gets really good are far too fleeting between the issues and immersion breaking problems to keep coming back.

I'd love to come back and play this game regularly after these are fixed. Honestly though getting told my already slow to a crawl experience gain was getting reduced by an additional 50% because I didn't want to play with a blatant cheater was the final straw for me. There shouldn't be cheaters, the exp gain shouldn't be so tremendously slow, the queues shouldn't be so long. Having a penalization makes sense only if you actually have the rest of your game in good working order.

Also having sub 2000 members at peak in the first week and bleeding out members with every day kind of demonstrates that many people are probably in agreement.

No subtitles in gameplay, only in cutscenes. If you only want to shoot things and follow markers with no context then it's a 10/10, but if you want to know what's going on and can't hear dialogue super well then good luck.

I just didn't really find the game very fun at all. Was really excited, tried to play it, tried to love it. As I kept switching through the various game types growing more and more disheartened I quickly realized I just wasn't enjoying myself at all. Can't really explain why, like the story was kind of meh, but the voice acting was pretty good. The gameplay seemed relatively smooth, and the mechanics seemed intuitive enough. I just didn't really enjoy any of it. After a while it just felt like I was playing it to pad time, to justify this cost.

For $60, definitely not worth it. Plus denuvo, and the fact you have to pay for Tira on day 1 if you want her. A pretty bad faith move from the company in addition to just not having any fun. Would definitely not recommend.

I had thought that due to the fact the title said "Music" that most, if not all the tracks were going to be in fact music. There's only 40 songs, and the rest seem to be quick little 2-6 second sound effects.

I can definitely appreciate sound effects though, and I can see ways that the BGM's can be applied in my current VN. Overall, I'd say it was a pretty decent purchase.
