Having played this for about an hour here are my thoughts and findings:

The graphics do feel that they belong on a Nintendo console. Not that it's bad but, you'll get the idea. The style is vivid colours and cute looking characters give it that child friendly kind of feel; such as in the Zelda franchise. The options did not let me change screen resolution higher than 1080p, too.

The story seems nice and relaxed with some whimsical characters, it's not a unique tale. Rescue your girl from some evil character, having help along the way to make yourself powerful and ready to take on the big bad. The dialog does come across rather tailored for a younger audience and at times feels rather cheesy, to me.

The worst thing for me about this game though, are the camera look controls. Using either mouse and keyboard or a controller, looking around feels way off! It's either way too fast or too slow. Sometimes it even seems to stick rotating the camera around. The other controls seem fine. Easy to use and get used to.

Not the worst game ever, but in my opinion definitely not the best. If you are looking for a chill game, with a Zelda feel to it and get get passed the odd camera controls, then you might just find a nice adventure/RPG game here to get lost in the cute world and its story.

Early Access Review
As of right now the game is Early Access, even so, I've been really enjoying my time with it. I've mostly played PvE so far as I'm not really a PvP'er. It's a lot of fun to build your own castle and recruit NPCs as your minions.

The start of the game guides you through things by giving you Quests to do, which reward you with locking items to build and craft, so follow the Quests along to unlock more stuff ;)

Your character doesn't have a tradition Level as RPGs have it, your level is based on the gear you have equipped. But that isn't all. You need to kill boss NPC's and drink their "V Blood" to gain their power(s) and unlock other items to craft. You can then mix and match powers that you like, or that are best for taking on other Bosses.

NPC's roam around the world doing their own thing. They even fight each other. Which can be fun to witness.

Most official servers let you have a max of 4 players in a clan, but private servers let you choose higher numbers and adjust other settings, such as spawn rates etc.

The game has a Day/Night cycle, so you don't want to be out during the day as you'll burn and eventually die. So day time is better suited for building your Castle or crafting gear etc. If you do get caught out in the Sun, keep the the shadows. But keep an eye on them as the Sun moves casting shadows in different directions at different times of the day.

Speaking of death. When you die, you either respawn at a "Gate" or at a Coffin you have bound yourself to. Depending on the server type you are on, you will either just drop your collected materials but keep your gear (though it will take damage and will need repairing over time), or you will drop everything. When you re-awaken you can then check the map and travel back to try and collect your stuff again, if you want to try.

There are fast travel points dotted around the world called "Gates" which, once you have explored and discovered them, you can use to teleport between them, BUT, you can NOT take any collect materials with you. There is another form of fast travel that DOES let you take your collect materials with you, and that is through Caves! Caves are a little different from Gates as one end of the Cave will be higher up the terrain and you can jump down to the main land, but then you can't get back up and go back trough the cave that way. The other end of the cave will be at ground level. So, if you go through a Cave, don't jump down the terrain if you don't want to be where it's taken you to, just go back through the Cave.

Castle building is really fun. First you place down your Castle heart, to mark your territory. It shows a percentage number showing how much of that area you can build on.. so find some were that is as close to 100% as possible (I only found a 90%, that's as close to 100% as I found). You cant build too close to others Castles either. But you can destroy the vegetation and old walls. At first you'll only have wooden walls, but once you can make stone then you can change them to stone walls and once you place down the floors then your Castle is under cover and will protect you from the Sun.
One thing to note here while building your Castle; it will Decay over time and that will leave it vulnerable to being attacked and eventually destroyed by other players. To stop the Decay, you kill NPCs and gain "Blood Essence". You put that Blood Essence into the Castle Heart. The more you put in the longer it will take before your Castle starts to become Decayed. So, keep an eye on that ;)

For an Early Access game, this offers a nice amount to do and I can not wait to see what else the devs bring out during its development.

Early Access Review
I really enjoyed playing through this game. I do recommend playing the tutorial first to get a feel and understand the control and movement mechanics.

So, first of all you have to appreciate that this game is in Early Access and VR is still really in its infancy.

The movement mechanics are controlled via a Vive controller touch-pad which "walks" you around, so if this style of movement makes you feel nauseous then you might not feel comfortable with it, but that is explained in the description of the game anyway.

For me, after a minute or two I got the hang of the movement controls - mainly testing in the tutorial - I had it down, especially if I actually pretended that I was physically walking by just simply walking on the spot.

The other controls such as reloading the gun feels very natural to me, and holding the sword I felt the inspiration from other Sci-Fi movies and games.. which was really cool. Speaking of the sword, it was a great addition, because I found myself running out of ammo for my gun quickly.. but I'm not the best at aiming - so that's ok, haha :)

You can pick up extra ammo if you can find it, which of course helps, but I tended to just use my sword when I ran out of ammo. Which also meant that I often physically crouched down, hiding behind things in the game as enemies approached me.

Overall I felt very immersed and definitely felt like I wanted to escape the station - but my strategy was not good so I ended up dead.. a lot.. haha. So I'll change my strategy and hopefully get better at aiming with my gun.

Well done devs, granted, while not one of the best games in the world it is one of my fav VR games to play - when I have the time and I want to do something hardcore - because it is unforgiving in its difficulty, but that's one of its many appeals for me. :D

I look forward to seeing the development of this game over time. ;)

Early Access Review
This is not your typical RPG, "Whack a key to use my Combo-powers of awesome death bringing". It takes a little time to get used to the combat controls and how to move around. But with a little practice in the Single-Player arena you get the hang of it.

I didn't last long at all during my first few plays of the game, my first enemy encounters always ended up with me being on the wrong side of some enemies Axe all to quickly.

The graphics quality is fantastic, the animations seem to flow nicely and the physics making you watch where you are walking and what you walk into. Taking into account that this is not made a in publically available game engine such as Unity3D, Unreal Engine or CryEngine, makes this game even more impressive. A 3D graphics engine is by far one of the most hard and gruelling tasks a games developer can undertake. So, Kudos there guys.

Although I do find the game lacking diverse content and things looking very similar from one room to the next - as is the norm for dungeon crawlers - I still rate this high on my list of games to play. It is still only in Early Access so you have to account for the fact this game is still in its development stage.

They devs have promised more content and it seems to be in active development so that is always a plus.

I can't wait to see what new features and content the devs bring to this game in the coming updates.

Early Access Review
I really like the idea of this game, getting placed in the middle of no where with nothing but the very basics and then you have to learn how to survive. Hunt for food and drink, build a shelter, protect yourself from man and beast, etc... It all speaks a very great game to me.

I know that this game is still in development and it is Early Access, but some things just really kill the game for me. From what I can gather so far from only playing the experimental version, I may have stumble upon this game when a game patch may have created more issues then it solved. So this review may change in the coming patch updates.

If you are like me, you just like to dive right into a game and figure things out for yourself, or possibly be prompted b y the game on the very basics at least... this game prompts nothing. Make sure you get the keyboard commands written down on your fist few plays so you at lest know how to control your character.

I have chosen to play on official server and other servers and all seem to have the same issues.. so just choose one that suits you.. more players etc.. try find one with less ping time (less lag) as this game often suffers from lag issues.

At first I had no clue how to build a shelter, or even if it was possible with the limited tools I had to start, or maybe not enough resources. I wanted to totally immerse myself in the game, forgetting the global chat which seemed to be hammered with nonsense and trash talk.

I am still struggling with this game, it would be great to have some initial prompts, maybe a quick popup explaining the basic controls and UI elements, and then a brief hint at where to start.. or what to do first.

As it stands right now, I would not recommend this game as performance issues plaque this game everywhere, the UI is very unintuitive, I had to start the game from its folder with a right-click and in admin mode just so i could run it in a window and be able to click in-game buttons... such as the very imported 'Wake up' button when you first start. (even pressing F1 to display the console didn't seem to show anything).

While this game has huge potential I would think twice before purchasing a game that is not yet stable while they are in the middle of a reboot (rewrite of the game) and wait for performance issues to be sorted out.

Even so, I still hold up a hope that this all gets sorted out so we can enjoy what could potentially be a great game, some thing different.

Cheers,
-Andy
