The final nail in the coffin which ultimate drove me to leave the FNAF community. Incorporates a bunch of AR/sci-fi supernatural bullsh*t just to make the lore more overly-convoluted and confusing, only to be completely scrapped, retconned and rewritten with the next game.

Please Scott Cawthon, in the name of all that is holy, in you have ANY sense and wish to avoid the FNAF franchise gaining the legacy of being merely cashgrab shovelware slop, DO NOT let Steel Wool make any future FNAF games. Just end this already, once and for all...

Now I wanted to give this game another shot, since the last time I experienced this was around 2 years ago via Game Pass.

Barely half an hour in, ..and I already regret my decision.

̶I̶ ̶m̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶d̶e̶c̶i̶d̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶e̶l̶a̶b̶o̶r̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶s̶o̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶l̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶d̶a̶t̶e̶, but for now I think that's the last time I will be playing this.

ADDENDUM + TL;DR

* The game forces you to sign in with your Microsoft account, ..yet you cannot sync your previous saves from the Xbox/Microsoft Store version.

* Literally stupid amounts of unskippable prerendered cutscenes and dialogue from insufferable characters with terrible writing, ..when literally all I wanna do is f*cking drive!

* Mediocre handling model. Something just feels off with the way most cars control.

* The radio station soundtrack is complete ass. (NFS Unbound levels of insufferable) Muted this immediately.

Overall, this game just throws far too much bullsh*t at me, which I simply do not have the patience for. Plus I have far better uses for the 140 GB of storage space this game requires.

The overall state of the game has improved considerably since its 1.0 launch in April 2022. However, it definitely still needs to be continually worked on, updated and refined by Running With Scissors. Perhaps with enough time, effort and possibly luck, this will eventually evolve into something pretty solid.

I may further update this, as and when I see fit..

Addendum 1: Although this will probably not immediately be apparent when running this game on systems with a fairly generous amount of video memory (10 - 12 GB or more), it is probably worth noting that there appears to be some form of video memory leak with this game, where the VRAM usage will gradually increase over time after travelling through multiple zap zones. Possibly due to the game not unloading data/assets from the previous zones

I noticed this phenomenon when testing the game on some older hardware I had, which I hadn't used in my main rig for years.

In one of these tests I conducted, I used a Radeon R9 290X. With 4 GB of VRAM. (The actual amount suggested in the game's "recommended" system requirements.)

The initial framerates I was were surprisingly decent, around the 60 FPS range whilst travelling outside in open areas. However, there was this tendency for the performance to tank dramatically to sub-20 FPS whenever I would enter most buildings.

I later tested the game with an 8 GB Radeon RX Vega 64. Initial framerates were also perfectly fine (Around the 70-75 FPS range at 1080p) in both the outdoor and inside of buildings to begin with. However, eventually after having travelled through several zap zones throughout the course of my playthrough, I noticed in Task Manager that the game had completely eaten through the full 8 GB of available GPU memory, and was starting to overflow into system RAM. Of course, this resulted in a major drop in framerate..

So yeah, it is probably worth keeping in mind that this game has a tendency to chew though video memory...

I played for a total of 69 hours at the time of writing this review. Nice.

Jokes and memes aside, this game is a timeless masterpiece.

Has anyone else ever had a game, piece of media, or book that completely destroyed your hope in games? like something you were so excited for that when it came out and was so terrible, that it just utterly destroyed future expectations for the media in and outside of that franchise? A complete and utter unmitigated trainwreck of a game which both intrigued me enough to check into the franchise, ..but also ultimately drove me to leave the FNAF community.

FNaF: Security Breach is fundamentally Broken, ..and no, I do NOT Mean the Bugs.

Nearly 3 years later, and this 'game' is literally just $40 abandonware at this point. In fact, all FNAF games which released post Pizzeria Simulator are just cash-grab games that a copium-addicted community refuses to believe. With every new game that launches adding more characters and some new form of AR/sci-fi supernatural bullsh*t just to make the lore more overly-convoluted and confusing, only to be completely scrapped, retconned and rewritten with the next game.

If it was not for the FNAF brand recognition, in addition to the YouTubers & streamers who promoted this game to their child fanbase, as well as the sheer ungodly volume of memes/joke "reviews" and award bait being posted, then I severely doubt this game would still have that "Very Positive" 86% review score..

Honestly, this franchise just needs to f*cking end already... In fact, just straight up boycott this franchise into irrelevancy! Don't even give the games any free attention or publicity!
