The Good:
Great game design and truly scary experience at times. Fear of the unknown is a great tension builder. I also very much enjoy utilizing proximity chat with friends. It really ups the tension when you don't hear you friend while exploring and you're left wondering what happened to them. I applaud the developer and very much appreciate their continued support for the game.

The Bad:
As much fun as this game can be at times, I find myself overwhelmingly frustrated at the bugs I experience. I have noticed multiple times where I've been attacked by mobs through the floor or wall as if the walls don't even exist. What's the point of a safe location to retreat to if you're not going to bother making the location actually safe for the crew members? I have also noticed many times where I or my friends simply slip off the bars used to jump across gaps. Lastly, there are occasionally monsters that are just in places you can't possibly expect and die instantly upon entering an area. For instance, I've walked into an emergency exit and immediately had my neck snapped. Had no opportunity to see him and even if I did, the time it takes to leave a room was more than the time I had before my instantaneous death. I have also walked through a door into a tight corridor and immediately had a flea jump on my face. Nothing I could do to see it due to it being literally right over the door. And even if I could see it, (by maybe crouching while entering the doorway? which seems an unreasonable request given how many doors/door frames there are in this game.) I couldn't avoid it if I needed to get through that way. From my very limited knowledge of game development, these things seem pretty simple to remedy. perhaps an increased ttk, decrease the time it takes to open an exit, decrease the reaction time of monsters who have instakill potential to at least give you an opportunity to react to one and leave, etc.

Summary: Definitely worth 10 bucks. Very fun game. Though be prepared to deal with some bull crap from time to time.

I have tried so hard to love this game. I loved the campaign and every time I'm finally able to get into a multiplayer game, it's a great experience. Problem is, my friend and I haven't been able to get into a multiplayer game consistently since we bought the game on sale a week or two ago. But every time I get on, it says "connection to server timed out" and nothing more. No error code to look up, nothing. just a generic statement about the ability to connect to the server. I've tried playing outside of peak hours, I'm hard wired to my router, I have a great PC. You'd think after 5 years of this game being out, that solutions would be well documented for issues like this. If anyone can lead me to a solution, I'll be more than happy to change my review but as of now, the game is great but half of it is unplayable.

Edit: Adjusted this rating from a No to a Yes because Respawn finally fixed their servers from the DDoS attacks.

Don't get this game if you intend to play alone. This game is not conducive to singles. I've been trying to get a teammate for 11 straight games with the "fill teammates" button and it hasn't given me ONE. I'd love to play this game with friends, but they're not always around. I'd love to enjoy this game more, but with the lack of ability to play without friends or work together with a team is just entirely offputting when every single other person i find has their teammate, it's incredibly frustrating and feels like a stacked deck.

That being said, when I am playing with my friends, it's a great time and I recommend it to anyone who has a friend who's just as interested in the game as they are.

Personally haven't had many issues, but i've got a pretty high tier build. A few frame rate drops, but a majority of the time I'm running above 60. Give it a shot and if it doesn't work, just refund.

great game. received this as a gift and it's everything I was hoping it would be. Hope they eventually come out with a sequel.

I love playing this game so much. That being said, I can't queue up into any games unless I'm with a friend for some reason, so grinding wins isn't possible and thus, I can't get all the cool cosmetics that I want. As much as I love this game, I can't recommend it until the developers get it together on their server side.

good game to vibe in. really immersive if you try to get into it. Highly recommended. Even for the 40 dollar price tag.

I do not recommend this game for the reason that I am currently unable to play it. I believe it is because of a memory leak somewhere in the game. After reading on mulitple forums, the best way to counteract this is to have 16 gigs of ram which i do not have. The first time I launched the game, it launched after fifteen minutes of waiting. I assumed that was because it was the first time starting up such a huge game. When I got in the game, however, I had 6 frames per second, so I quit the game and restarted my computer. I launched the game again and it didn't launch after half an hour of waiting. I tried to optimize it as best as I could through the launch settings, but it still didn't launch. Everything says it's running and that it should be working fine; however, it doesn't seem to work. After all this time trying to optimize, I've "played the game for over two hours. Please optimize this game for people who don't have monster computers. I'd love to play it.
