Early Access Review
Note: Writing this review with 15.3 hours into the game. Some of it was spent with me AFK making food or tending my kids lol.

So far, the game is fun and enjoyable considering it's an Early Access game there are some flaws and bugs here and there obviously. You have 3 classes to choose from: Warrior, Mage, and Ranger / Archer. As of right now, I feel the Warrior got the short end of the stick from the 3. Since he's CQC and with the current combat system, the whole not being to move while swinging your weapon doesn't work too great. Now, going forward... The game starts you off on a small island with barely any monsters to fight so it's an introduction to the game. Get some wood, make a workbench, kill a skeleton, grab some blue crystal shards and then form blue crystal cubes and rebuild the portal. That is practically what you will do to progress further into the other islands. For accessing the boss islands from what I've seen, instead of blue shards, they're yellow shards. The shards are relatively easy to farm but, I try not to rush through each island considering each island has it's unique resources to farm. The game is not difficult for me, for others I don't know but, I enjoy it because I play it to enjoy the scenary and explore each island and find the hidden treasure chests that they have. So for those who have been rushing through, you probably missed a few. I won't say it's a mandatory thing or the reward from the chests is something amazing but, it's something to do instead of just rushing through to reach the final boss and say... oh well, now what?

I just had my first co-op experience today with a buddy of mine. So far, I feel there should be a trade function or a drop item button, because as of right now... the only way you can give an item to a friend is by placing it in a chest and having your friend get it from the chest. That can be really annoying especially if you pick up some loot that he or she was getting from a loot chest and you happened to be close by and it goes to you instead.

First boss was nothing too special but, I will say I died the first encounter because I wasn't sure what to expect lol.

Cons:

Auto-lock camera combat needs work.

Progression to other islands are too simple (reduce the drop rate on shards to where it's not so easy or... add a mini-boss spawn when you are opening a new portal to the new zone... something along the lines).

Warrior needs some work, seems slightly weak for the current combat style.

Edit: 3/31/2024

This game has improved tremendously since it's release. I am very impressed how far they've come along.

This game is so much fun. Back when it was released on Xbox 360 Arcade, so many people jumped into this game and it was a HUGE success. Sadly, Uber Ent went and forgot about the Xbox 360 community and gave more attention to the PC version. They gave us only the Spunky Cola special DLC but never gave us the Uncle Tully's map and other DLCs they said we'd get. Eventually, they abandoned MNC on both sides, PC and Xbox and decided to make Super MNC. Community responded by not supporting Super MNC like they were hoping us to. Instead we enjoyed MNC for a much as would could until it slowly withered away.

Currently, this game is dead. The game itself is fun if people decide to jump in again and play. If Uber Ent would just drop the price of $5 and make it Free to play and just add some skins to customize your appearance WHICH DOES NOT ADD ANY STATS BOOSTS AND IS SOLELY FOR COSMETIC PURPOSES! Then they can get some money and MAYBE the community will slowly begin to revive itself. If you and some friends would like to play this game together and against each other for fun and laughs, go for it. They do have a co-op mode called Blitz. Blitz is pretty much a survival mode where you survive wave after wave of bots and you need to protect the Money Ball from getting destroyed. Blitz can be played offline. Crossfire is the multiplayer mode, it can be played offline but splitscreen, no AIs are allowed in this game for either game mode.

Hope this information helps anyone decide whether they want to spend money and try the game with friends, or wait until if it ever goes Free to Play.

PS: I barely have hours on here because I mainly played back on Xbox 360 back in it's glory days.
