WHat is there to say about DotE?

Its good.! Its a Roguelike, its a Tower Defense, It uses Exploration as a limited resource. Only other game I have seen pulling this of was desktop dungeons, and that was allways a tense fight there.

The graphics - Lovely. Its all Pixel graphics, but they still look so Good. I mean, It is Pixels, but then again they actually look like something other than blocks.

Gameplay : It takes a little getting used to, but a lot can be found out in a few sessions of trial and error. still think this needs a Tutorial and/or First Time Tutorial floor, but you can only deliver what you have and since not all systems are 100% done and are subject to change, building an extensive tutorial wuld be a bit in vain. But the system at all is simple
you build stuff, you open a door, you see whats inside - Monsters, Relics, Survivors, Loot - and you gain resources from your built stuff
I also love how they got an EXP-less Levelling system. Thats what one of the resources is for. You give them enough food, and they Level up. But the limited building space, the limited Dust to activate rooms to build stuff in them and the fact that you have 3 resources you have to take care of make this game a really hot decision sometimes.

Sound - The music is Gorgeous. Need I say more? I love me some good music in games

Overall - for an early access game it is quite good and delivers a lot of content already. a good bunch of loveable heroes, a hard make-you-thing management system and most of all, tons of Rougelike Try againsy fun, since the game may end up playing the "Diablo 2 Wheel of Skills" with you and your building/resource decision

(To explain the reference, Diablo 2 was a Clicky RPG with a multitude of classes and different skills. However, most builds that bring you through the game just fall short at the final boss. Means you could breeze through the game with a necromancer summoning skelettons wreaking havoc, but on the final boss they will be killed of way before they reach him. Not to forget that he one hits you as average necromancer.
That boss was the "Is your Skillset viable?" moment. And no, the only way to respec was to use a trainer/Savegame editor. If you didnt want this, its start the game from scratch )
