The only criticism I have is the snarky smirk-to-camera dialogue (at one point, during a tutorial, the main character literally says "ugh, you sound like a video game tutorial!!!" HA HA WINK WINK GET IT), but every other aspect of this game is brilliant from start to finish, art, sound, animation, gameplay, cat

They took a well crafted fast paced relatively linear shooter and turned it into a bullet sponge filled generic sandbox with arbitrary level distinctions. It's a pretty, and competently assembled generic sandbox, and I intend to finish it, but who wanted this? Who looked at the other games and said "You know what would make this better? If you couldn't hurt certain enemies because their number is higher than yours. Also, even IF their numbers aren't higher than yours, it still takes like an entire magazine of close range shotgun rounds to kill a dude."

The thing is I can UNDERSTAND the design decisions: the levelling is necessary so you don't just sprint through the entire sandbox. The armor is there to my your stealth kills/takedowns more valuable and to encourage you to switch up your weapons. But it just means everything is that much more tedious.

Oh, and this is a very minor nitpick but unless I missed it, I don't think it prompts you to choose a difficulty, and you have to hunt it down in the options menu yourself. This wouldn't mean much except between multiple lives, sister revivals, and the free self-healing abilities, the base game is WAY too easy, and with the spongy enemies means that most fights can be resolved by just standing in the open and trading bullets until the enemies eventually die before you do. Very tedious.

I would recommend replaying a runthrough of new colossus instead - even if it does mean you need to "play" that damn 20 minute opening cutscene again.
