Playing solo in this using a Rift S is immensly fun, but nothing compares to having even 1 other player, then the hilarity and frustration ensues!!!!

Ok, this game came free this week on either humble or steam, can not remember which I got it from.
It has been one of the most enjoyable non-combat games I have played in YEARS!!!!

The story is fantastic, the movement is fluid, and the tools you are given are fun yet difficult enough to be challenging at points.

There was a real moment at the end that sparked my emotions, and im still not sure if it was a nod at american phrasing or an actual part of the storyline but the whole thing ties together.

Would highly recommend playing through this if you like puzzle games or games with great story.

Early Access Review
Ok, after nearly 20 hours of play I think I can make a basic review.

I am really enjoying this game, it has elements common to many voxel based games and as such it will have comparisons made (Space engineers being top, then minecraft in space), but it is far more than that. This is an ALPHA and as such will be changing hugely before release, even so it has so many elements of a good game already here.

Starting out can be tough as there is no ingame tutorial as of this time, but the game itself is quite intuative. The starting ship you "crash" in has workable parts and some item stashed in containers on each side to get you started. Even so you will want to work FAST to begin with as trying to work out where oxygen should go could be a little confusing (me trying to place it directly into the oxygen station before i spotted the oxygen tanks), but after that its quite a quick progression to making a base to start crafting at.

From there it is a whirlwind of mining and hunting or being hunted by hostile aliens, drones and on one occasion my friend who hopped into my game and was taking pot shots at me with a pistol!

Ground vehicles come next with a very star wars like landspeeder feeling which make it MUCH faster to get around and can even be your own mini mobile factory and supply depot.

Then once you have enough and think you are ready, its into space with you! The game is only small and quite enclosed right now but even so the space part of the game feels large, especially with the transition from planet to space and back being a fiery ball of excitement.

I took over a station in the asteroid field, and have yet to try making a capital vessel so I cant comment there yet.

I will be playing this game more, and following its development closely, I would quite happily recommend it to anyone with an interest in voxel based games or survival games.

On to the bigger galaxy once its ready!

I was in a the beta for this and I REALLY enjoy the gun and run sword play this game brings, add to that matchmaking and you have a VERY nice co-op game, with a really good story line that enhances the singleplayer aspect!
