Has a few issues with vague and not well explained subsystems that will leave you confused unless you go look it up or play enough to figure it out on your own.

But otherwise a good well polished stat grinding game.

Second playthrough spoiled by online systems.

Good alternative to Left 4 Dead but with Sniper gameplay. Enjoyable to just get in and pop some heads.

Grind so you can unlock next tier of grind. Everything goes off a cliff when you reach stage 3 and are attempting to get to stage 4. As you go up in crafting level, the material requirements go up exponentially.

ie: tier 4 leather requires tier 3 leather which requires tiers 2 and 1 leather. It continues in this trend for the rest of the game(from what I've been told).

You also lose the ability to craft stuff beyond tier 3 for free requiring you to use other players crafting stations which are taxed. The game seems to boast that it's market is completely player driven, yet it all seems pretty fake and artificial to me.

I like the tech tree though.

For what I played within the 2 hour refund window, it was not very enjoyable. I couldn't seem to construct anything basic before leveling up to 5. The controls are fairly clunky and I even discovered an exploit with the stamina system allowing me to spam unlimited stamina. At nearly $30 I kinda expected a more refined experience.

I love the game, but in the current state it is unplayable due to cheaters.

This game gets a 9/10 otherwise once the hacking is resolved. Currently cannot reccomend my friends to play it.

6 months later, hacking is almost removed but now the game has microtransactions out the ears. Still a great game at it's core but there seems to be no shame in this companies ability to take forever on fixing its technical issues aswell as producing lackluster content between huge time gaps and then looking to be paid for limited time only features.

Castle Story has been a really fun production to follow over the passed few years and the game is slowly getting there. As the project has developed, it has given me aspirations and insight into the development proccesses invloved.

Though performance issues are still there, the game is nailing the genre of RTS/Minecraft. It may not meet everything that I may have expected, but it is the closest to that experience I have found.

Huge shoutout to the new map editor, that thing is incredible.
