Mass effect is an amazing game, and worth playing through especially if you go through the entire series. HOWEVER, the "digital deluxe edition" is a rip off. you can not get the DLC on steam, which comes included in the regular digital deluxe edition. This is not mentioned in the description of the item, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. You have to go to origin and buy the game directly from them, and download it using their launcher. that is the only way to get the DLCs you are paying for. otherwise, you might as well save your money and just buy the standard edition on steam, but you miss out of some of the best DLC in the series, including 2 additional squad mates, and hours of gameplay.

I give a thumbs up tentatively. The game has a LOT of potential, the art is fantastic and the... plot... of the princesses is mesmerizing. However, the amount of bugs in the current build are nightmarish at best. In my countless hours of play, the gameplay is interrupted almost constantly by full game crashes for various unknown reasons, at any given time. The amount of frustration at a random crash in the middle of a cutscene, or worse, the crashes when exploring a dungeon, have forced me to have to walk away from my computer before i throw it through a window. i can't even begin to count how many times ive lost rare items found from random drops, or had to replay a cutscene because of a deadgame. At one point i ttempted to keep track, and the game crashed 18 times in 20 minutes! This makes transitioning through caves (such as near the mouse kingdom) a nerve wracking speed run, instead of enjoyable exploration or swirly farming. I feel like im being chased by a monster at every moment, and not in a good way. That being said, this is still VERY beta, which is why i say its worth watching. (review written for version 0,17.9)
