Yo what's it with recent platformers being unexpectedly emotional and having engaging, witty dialogue scenes which only use sound effects and creative visual presentation to convey the emotions better than some games seem to manage with voice actors?

What I'm getting at is this is very similar to Katana Zero in the sense that it's all of the above, but with a grappling hook instead of a sword. Both games have caused me to unexpectedly tear up, reload a challenge upwards of 100 times, and zig-zag around a room killing everything in sight, feeling like a 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏' 𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅. So if you liked KZ, you'll probably like this too.

Bear in mind I'm writing this after just one session playing it, but it was a mighty session, the prologue/intro was great.

I've barely scratched the rock's surface, but even half an hour in I'm having a gnorptastic time!

For real tho, how is this so damn charming? I didn't expect it to be so funny!

Came for the robo booba, stayed for the robo booba story.

Genuinely beautiful game, from the visuals to the story, to the incredible soundtrack that refuses to leave my head (I don't mind).

Tight jiggle peek and prefire / don't overextend unless moving perpendicularly to enemy bullets: the game.

Would give a neutral recommendation if possible, it's cool and as always with Machado's games I love the style, but it's too difficult imo. Can get to ~50% comfortably enough but the random map layouts is ultimately what decides my fate each run. Some layouts allow for comfortable enough jiggle peeking into the enemies across the map, and some let you strafe perpendicularly while mowing them all down, but others spawn you so close to those pink-faced wallhack-ridden bastards that even tightly peeking while moving away and dodging is a gamble every time, very much in the enemy's favour. Have tried getting past 60% for over 40 minutes and I'm already sick of it tbh.

Gonna leave it on recommended since its hard to justify complaining about a game so cheap and maybe it's just a skill issue on my part, but idk man, the enemy reactions are a bit too fast for some of the map layouts if you ask me... Possible sure, but ♥♥♥♥ just ain't fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1. More rain
2. More world
3. More slugcats

What's not to like? I can say with confidence that it's going to be incredible.

Wonderful game, short but really good gameplay and story, and the music was great too.

I finished it in 5 hours but there's still plenty of achievements left for me to get so there could be some replayability in trying to find secrets / alternative story routes / etc. Also there's a speedrun mode that unlocks after you beat the game, with an option to make it extra difficult, if that's your thing. Some levels were pretty damn difficult even without that so I'm sure it's rough on that mode!

I wasn't expecting to be so invested in some of the characters by the end, they were really well animated and written. Can't wait to see the upcoming continuation of the story!

Really good & unique arena shooter. Loads of game modes, queue times ain't bad (and you get to fight others in the queue while you wait), and most importantly it feels pretty damn solid. Sometimes hit-reg can feel a bit funky but mostly it's fine.
