Lets make this overwhelmingly negative again.

One of the big 2 space sims. What more can I say?

Okay there are some things to be said.
Positives: Excellent visuals, fun flight model, deep ship mechanics, great exploration, mining, trading, combat gameplay (both PvE and PvP, best sound design in the industry, 1-1 scale galaxy and star systems, very immersive.

Negatives: Grindy, Has a few buggy features that barely work such as multi-crew, Pre-built ships being sold for real money to skip some of the early game grind (basically pay-to-win), some tasks such as Guardian related gameplay or Federal/Imperial ranks are extremely time consuming and annoying to do.

Future: After nearly 10 years the game is still getting content updates. It did go stagnant for many years but it seems like the developers are finally giving the game the attention it deserves. With 1 new ship added this year and 3 more to go, a full rework of the powerplay system incoming along with new flight mechanics being added it seems like the game does have a future ahead.

If you like space then this game is a must have, end of story.

EDIT: As of the Type 8 Update on August 7th 2024, the game is significantly less grindy. For years a major grind was gathering materials for engineering. This has been addressed and material collection is now MUCH faster.
