I had high hopes for this game. After the glory of Kingdom: New Lands, I was all fired up for more pixel art indie goodness but this game is a heartbreaking dumpster fire. The story is the most convoluted trash I have seen this side of a David Lynch inspired anime series. Utterly incomprehensible.
The combat had me switching between controller and K&M to try to get an edge, all the while yelling F this S of a game at more regular intervals than I would like.
Almost nothing bad that happened to me during my TWICE playthrough of this game was the fault of my actions, which vexed me to no end. Either the mechanics ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me or the bugs did, either way I have a sore throat from yelling at my monitor.
Also, spoiler alert...
The ending is some of the weakest, poo-your-own-bed storytelling I HAVE EVER SEEN.
This should have been procedurally generated. The story is a hot mess and would have been better written by an algorithm.
Boo. Hiss. Sad Panda.

I'll forego my usual verbiage becasue I feel it's important to get to this message out quickly.
I did not enjoy this game. Because it is bad. To clarify, I did not enjoy playing this bad game.
So, in summation: It is a bad game and you should play something less bad than Fallen Earth.
Promises of a massive, open world and amazing, varied loot are all pointless because the frustration that you experience trying to navigate the interface or work the woeful controls will have you ragequitting long before the supposed grand scale of the map is revealed.

The 'tutorial' is a battery of textwall hints.
The combat is clunky (and quite frankly stupid-looking).
The story is a garbled, unengaging nonsense festival.

The... ugh. Forget it.

Definitely a 'you get what you pay for' free-to-play title.

Sweet Jesus! I picked this game up on the Steam sale for something like $9 and then spent $70 on paracetamol trying to rid myself of the headache I got from GAME$ FOR WINDOWS F*CKING LIVE!

DO *NOT* PURCHASE THIS GAME UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH HOURS OF HAIR-WRENCHING M$ BULL$HIT!

Early Access Review
I just wanted to do what I can to try and promote this amazing game. I am absolutely loving it and I think it deserves a little more praise and hype. It's a single player, post-apocalyptic, turn based, permadeath, hex-mapped, rogue-like, rpg. I love these flavour of games and now that I have a tiny baby to look after these days, I thought I might try something more 'pausable' because I may have to suddenly be elbow deep in doodie duty at a moment's notice. Which is something that you just can't reconcile with games of unforgiving immediacy like DayZ.
There are some great intro tutorial videos on Youtube that explain the slightly foreign quirks of what is basically a gui format you should be comfortable with.
There is a free demo version available on the Steam Store, so you can check it out fearlessly before making up your mind.
Should be a big hit with my Tabletop folks.
