One of my many favorite games, something I can see myself replaying one day in the future.
However getting back into the game after some time, takes quite some effort and a lot of failing, so I recommend at least finishing the game, before taking a break from it. You can perfect your runs and gather the collectibles after you beat the main story.
There isn't really a point of no return, it's just that some cutscenes might be slightly different if you don't pick up collectibles from the get go, I think.
This game has quite the interesting take on a christianity themed story, so that it should still be enjoyable to people who aren't christian. The character interactions makes most of the joy anyways, kudos to the voice actresses and actors.
The visuals aren't hyper realistic, but the style is completely to my liking.
I still don't fully understand why the guns are cards, though, but I suppose it does present a great UX, so it works well and it's really cool how you can utilize the secondary abilities to get around. Some collectibles really make you think hard about how to utilize the cards you get to their maximum potential.
So it's quite the puzzle game in itself.
Otherwise it's all about speedrunning. Sure you can get through the game on a slower pace, but some levels require a quick reaction time, leap of faiths and going fast (chili dogs not included).
I love seeing the times my friends got and each level I tried to beat my rival.

In conclusion: I highly recommend the game for it's unique style, story and mechanics. It's a great game for people who like speedrunning and parkouring.

I don't recommend this game even on a discount.
Development seems sluggish with only 2 updates in 2024.
The game is extremely unpolished.
I've tested catastrophically buggy VR games and nothing has made me as motion sick as this game.
The movement controls are infuriating, the gun play is really bad and the balance is way off. As a prop you have to give the Hunters a chance on purpose to find you, because it's easy to exploit a glitch that makes you impossible to get to. To make it fair for my friends I specifically chose to not even turn into a prop and I still made it to the last minute of the rounds anyways. You can even gang up on the chosen Hunter by simply attacking them and once they are dead you have won. Not like they can actually hit you or do much damage with the pistol. Most of the time they miss, hit a prop somewhere across the map and take damage. If they do hit you, just use the first aid kits.
It's just a bad copy from the original.

I haven't played the game for years and when I came back it feels like I'm playing it for the first time again, because the devs kept improving it. Certainly one of steams must-haves and a legend of a game.

A lot of nice little things here and there, which aren't really worth the price honestly.
What bothers me about this dlc however is that it doesn't feel CDPR or Cyberpunk... so much of the writing that is completely different than the rest and kind of cringe... I wouldn't be surprised if out of nowhere V would just say "Bazinga" during a gig. Also you are forced to crawl up the presidents crack, why??? What if I want to sell her out to Hansen? I would like to know what that outcome would look like.
The most cyberpunk thing about the dlc's are the glitches and performance issues.
Gameplay wise the new gigs are very call of duty mixed with dying light and your choices don't really matter... play an edgerunner or on a low difficulty if you want to just get through this for the rewards. I suggest waiting for a big discount.

I haven't been obsessed with a game like this in a while, it is quite addictive with its mechanics and enthralling with its lore. Sure there are some issues here and there, most notable the climbing (the geometries of boulders are strange and sometimes don't allow you to climb, instead you have to skyrim jump up those hills) and some animations... like how deer can do a 90° or sometimes even a 180° turn in an instant to dodge your shot at the exact moment you let go off that arrow <.<
The beauty of the realms, special effects and honestly in my eyes the characters and models is capturing. The bases you built are prettier than your standard survival game, because you place little objects everywhere that are actually beneficial to your workstations and such. When you craft something, the materials you use actually have an influence on the stats and the look of what you craft: Say you use brass to make a revolver, that revolver will in fact be made of brass and shine in your hand like a bar of gold.
The attention to detail in this game is seriously astounding, I could go on for days.
I highly recommend buying it (full price is still a good deal) and play the game with your friends online. Single Player is good, too, but the game shines with the Online mode (not self hosted), which is not like Rust or an MMO as I personally initially thought it to be... you will only encounter people you invite/ that invite you.

It's a very beautiful game that feels immersive and expansive.
I highly recommend to play this with friends, it's definitely the way to play it.
The only downsides is that it feels a bit too big, I mean yea you are a dwarf.... it's just that it takes a while to go from A to B and resources only respawning in some locations means you end up having a bit much travel time. Routines become tiring fast.

I missed this type of game. It's simple and fun. All you need is 1 person to play with and then you just shoot each other in an arena and that's it.
There are some things to unlock, but nothing that gives you an advantage in the game. The DLC is not mandatory. No paywall or pay 2 win. Just skill (unless we are talking about the shotgun, then it's just luck if you hit or not :P)

The game is good, but one of the worst XCOM games. It plays mostly like an XCOM, however story-wise it's so much different.
I do like the story and characters to some degree, they certainly improved over Enemy Within. I think they can even go a little bit more crazy with the character design like they did in Chimera Squad.
The gameplay is cool, but you need to be prepared to play it a bit different than former games in the series... you really have to adapt and be open for a new experience.
I wish I could end it here and give it a recommend, however the game got massively ruined. Its start was very troubled, since there were so many game breaking bugs. Many bugs were fixed, but it felt like new bugs got introduced, too.
Now the game is at a point where it's near unplayable if it wasn't for community support, because they added a new launcher that is extremely confusing. You can now open the launcher by pressing play on XCOM2 and decide in the launcher to play Bioshock... where is the logic in that? If I press play on XCOM2, I mean to play XCOM2!
Worst of all is that the game didn't even want to start for me when I used this launcher and I'm not the only one experiencing this.
Eventually I found a solution on reddit and managed to start it, however the game really likes to crash now... it wasn't this bad last time I played.
That is why I can't recommend the game now. I hope someone takes this IP away from 2K and actually manages it with some respect for the players.

Great game for hanging out with friends to just relax and do something mindless. Gameplay is unimpeded and without any modern game design gimmicks, so no stress. The challenge of the game only lies in trying your best to improve your odds to catch the fish you still need to complete your journal. Once you are tired of fishing, you can pick up a guitar and actually somewhat play like if it was a real guitar... honestly one of my favorite features. There is some exploration, too. It's worth it's price. Btw when you see people express their anger about an in game title costing a lot of money, please know that it's just that, a title in the game that you probably won't use and can still easily and quickly obtain with exploits, which leads me to the one gripe I have with the game. It is a rough cut gem, still needs polishing. Expect to encounter unpleasant things like glitches. The dev has shown that they are working to improve the game today, so I'm optimistic.

I feel like its prettiness is all it has going for it. You are basically just a politician and that's it. I felt pretty useless for the entire duration of playing the game. Just go pick up coins, invest it into something, get mugged since you can't defend yourself and your horse is slower than some small dude in a hoodie even while sprinting... Yea it's not really fun. I think there is also a lot of RNG involved and there are no explanations to anything whatsoever... Was I supposed to play the devs previous games to understand what is going on, is what I was asking myself. So the only thing that kept me playing is the exploration aspect, which had diminishing returns. Eventually I gave up, because the bizarre panning of the camera made me motion sick. Not like there was a real goal other than to keep rebuilding ships. Just to wrap this review up, the multiplayer aspect seems like it's just there so 2 people can do their own thing. Each has their own coin pouch, so either each person focuses on one side of the base, or one person is the collector while the other person does the investing... Without coordination, this feature is just a hindrance and doesn't really make it more fun.
