Hollowbody is a really cool game that I was very excited for a while and bought day one. I think the game is still really cool after beating it, but I can't really recommend the game overall. It feels like it's emulating Silent Hill without really understanding why exactly those systems really worked in the first place. It also didn't really deliver on my expectations with the cyberpunk setting, because despite the world being set in a cyberpunk future, the game itself is just another run through a regular dilapidated city, fit with a few retro appliances like CRTs and video phones.

The bottom line though is it's not very scary, and has pretty bad combat that boiled down to mashing a single button. I'm not entirely sure why there were any guns in the first place, and I'm also no sure why we can get more than one melee weapon. There's also no enemy variety aside from maybe a few dogs to break up the regular zombies. It all got boring very quick, and the boredom with the combat just made the game even less scary than it already was. I understand a horror game can have less than stellar combat and still deliver a really immersive and terrifying atmosphere (look at silent hill), but Hollowbody simply does not deliver.

If you just want a short form horror game for a good price, I still believe this game is perfectly serviceable for a one person developer and recommend giving it a try. But if you're familiar with a lot of horror games, I cannot recommend this. This game will not do anything very different or interesting. The setting could've set it apart alone, but it's underutilized so I don't recommend buying it based on that.

A tediously boring addition to one of my favorite games. Beautiful landscapes that are completely devoid of any intrigue, which are also dotted with 50 copy pasted weakling enemies, where your only reward is a cookbook to make some random elemental grease. (mostly) Drab bosses that ask you to raise your vigor and endurance rather than provide any interesting challenge. I've found myself with extended periods of time just trying to find anything interesting, and when I do find something, it's more than not just something you can find in the base game, like another mariner, another death bird, another dragon, lobsters, etc. It feels like any new, interesting enemies are sparse, and just annoying to deal anyways.
It just makes me think, why did I bother spending 40 dollars on this?

Apparently people are mad at the game for not being a carbon copy of the first game, which isn't fair. The game had a rough start with the servers getting nuked but the devs have been really transparent and have gotten it fixed pretty quickly.
Deathverse is a fun third person action deathmatch game where you try and kill 15 other contestants. If you liked the first game you'll be familiar with the control scheme. If the prospect of a melee combat battle royale interests you then this one's good. It has a retro art-deco and retro-space age visual style and designs, with a pretty grungy world. The music's great and I enjoy all the goofy sound effects. The games can be short and really volatile. The weapons are varied and fun to use, and you can even craft new ones with different sets of skills. Pretty good game in my book, especially for a f2p game.
