Early Access Review
Game is great for what it is. I just cannot support the developers' mentality, and the UI is utterly unusable.

Just played it because I got it for free. It didn't look cool enough to even spend R200(10$).

However, I ended up liking it allot, so much I finished it and tried to get as most of the challenges/achievements done. And now I want the other games.

Never noticed the lacking graphics because it was just a pleasure to play, and it was quite stable. (didn't crash once and only bug was 1 dove that spazzed-out and one nest I was searching for didn't spawn until a restart)

10/10 would raid again

Have been playing for over 8 years and it's still my favourite rts out there.

This game gives you so much freedom to play however you like becasue every unit/particle is physicly simulated(for real you can literally go Ender's game and shield yourself from artillery with aircraft), factions are very well balanced and game-ending experimentals acting as late-game uno reverse cards makes every match feel exciting and unique.

The effects, textures and models is nothing amazing, but the sheer scale and cool-factor completely masks this downfall. The skirmish maps are well layed out and I like the addition of navy units. The online community is also awesome ( check out forged alliance forever won't dissapoint) with ever growing mods, streams, competitions and you can even co-op the campeign.

The campeign's acting isn't a cringy mess (*cough supreme commander 2) and is quite interesting (could be biased idk fight me).

Super well spent R100 ($6) way back when. Would give a solid 9.8/10 (fix Aeon's tac missle defence plz)

Now, my thoughts on the "sequel" Supreme commander 2. (Forged alliance came out after supreme commander 2 if that says anything) Well, it's a good game on it's own, ignoring its campeign, but boi it's no successor. Unit cap is a quarter, the experimentals are so tiny(like bruh, what did you do to my boy fatboy), map size is an eighth, one less faction and every faction has a quarter of the variation in units and the balance is a mess. In retrospect, Supreme Commander 2 is a demo for what you'll get when buying supreme commander forged alliance.

Btw this my tier list (fite me):
1. Supreme commander FA
2. Command and Conquer 3
3. Dawn of war Soulstorm
4. Age of empires series

If you don't have friends, this is a super fun and awesome game.

However, I can't join my friends...we can both randomly be matched, we can join the same server by chance - heck, they can even spectate my gameplay at all times. We have 50-100 ping on servers and if, by chance, we get matchmaked together in a 1v1 then there is no lag or even warnings.

But can we join the same group, no! Keeps failing even if we use 4G and we both have clean installs. So it is possible to play together, but Ubisoft doesn't promote social interaction between friends.

Most of my time playing this game is joining sessions and praying to the ubisoft gods that I get matchmaked with my friends.
