I expected an Uber Eats Delivery Dude simulator, got a post-apocalyptic tale about giving home-bound people Wi-Fi passwords so they can stay connected in a world stuck between life and death. Feels like 2020...

Just like when this game was first shown to the public in teasers and out-of-context trailers, the first couple of hours of the game will feel like a bunch of nonsense, but Kojima managed to get some good story to tie together all the weirdness (while convincing you that it all Makes Sense™).
And after a while I found myself accepting the umbilical-cord-ghosts that make people explode like nukes, radar babies, rain that makes you old, and the metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of fish as somewhat logical. And that's a scary thought.

The game does get repetitive, especially if you decide to grind optional deliveries and invest your resources into building structures to make navigation easier, but that pays off in the long run. And while it takes a while to reach that point, yes, you do get some actual weapons and combat to fight back, and it's a game-changer. Stick with the game, and it's a rewarding experience by the time you beat it.

Came for PlatinumGames action, stayed for the well-constructed story, left emotionally broken

Would play again, needs a sequel and/or more DLC

One of the best RPG Maker games I've ever played, with some heavily emotional moments. If you're looking for an actual RPG, you won't find one here.

This is a story driven point-and-click mystery game, with great music, and with some creative usages of the scripting tools that the software offers. Well worth the money, for an average of 4 hours to complete the game. Shame that it didn't offer multiple endings, especially given that the game keeps track of your overall score for the minigames, but doesn't end up doing anything with that. An extra scene at the end, as a reward for having a good record, would've been nice. Maybe that's something to consider for the upcoming sequel?

10/10, right in the feels.

A Metroidvania with RPG elements. Visually, the game is amazing, bringing gorgeous graphics and animation, excellent gameplay. However, it has (so far) a clichéd story we've seen several times before, delivering yet another amnesiac protagonist, which is the game's weakest point (really, we don't need another of those)...
But that being just one low point, this game is still very much recommended, especially if you're a Metroidvania fan. As an extra recommendation, ignore Easy and Normal difficulty modes entirely and start playing on Tough for your first playthrough. It's the one I started on, and it seems to deliver a good balance, being challenging at times but not to the point of being unfair.

And if you need something more to convince you, it has Mysterious Wall Chicken.
