Early Access Review
tl;dr: Fantastic game, must buy for all fans of the tycoons in the transport/logistics/city building category.

GAMEPLAY
Core Gameplay
The gameplay is very in-depth and simulated down into the tiniest detail. A 20x20km map of your republic is entirely at your behest to control, down to the last citizen. Each citizen is simulated with their own stats/desires that need to be fulfilled, each of the large amount of resources can be processed in a different way. If you really want to, you can spend dozens of hours micromanaging this game even with a few minor towns. The QoL features work relatively well but if you really want to build a massive industrial behemoth you will need to invest some time.

Difficulty
The difficulty is very customizable and you can even change the settings during gameplay in the pause menu. On normal settings, the game isn't too hard but you should play the tutorials beforehand as even experienced management sim gamers will be overwhelmed by the depth and the GUI isn't that helpful. Also make sure to read the ingame FAQ if you get stuck.

Community
Without the stellar community and steam workshop this game would only be half as good (still a great game without mods though). From providing building variety, different sizes of buildings for small villages or megalopolises, from new vehicles ranging outside the standard time setting of this game to expand the experience (there's a guide on Steam on how to edit the starting year), anywhere you might see a gap in the gameplay the workshop will jump in. I am currently subscribed to several hundreds of items and the number keeps increasing. Amazing modding community.

PERFORMANCE
FPS-wise, the game seems to run very well even with larger cities and many inhabitants on my mid range PC. I have experienced some issues with crashing when ALT+TABbing to leave the game in the background, changing my settings to "Borderless Windowed" fixed this.

GRAPHICS
The graphics aren't amazing and some models can look rather janky up close, but the game honestly looks quite good for a sim of this depth and definitely has its pretty moments. There are some texture overhauls on the workshop that improve the looks a bit more, but it generally keeps graphics simple but sufficient. Not that it needs anything further.

PRICE
At 25€ (as of August 2021) the game is very fairly priced in my opinion. Nowhere will you get as much gameplay for so little money, comparably to other city builder sims (which often also have DLCs). If you like this kind of game, it's a must buy. If you're on the fence, the game does sometimes go on sale, mostly during big sale events like summer or halloween sale. I expect the price to go up after this game leaves early access so get it while it's hot.
