Early Access Review
Good pacing, nice natural aesthetic and the ability to cannibalise dead serfs during punishing winters; 8/10, the ability to make human skin coats and export Bloodwine as a luxury should be implemented though - basically, I want a flesh based economy.

I don't often dream about playing games, with Lost Ark however, I was dreaming about the login screen. 11/10, would skip work again... and likely will, very soon.

A surprisingly fun and addicting game - a tasty blend of Dynasty Warriors, Mount & Blade and Total War; grab a slice, this lunch is free.

Pros: fun combat, pretty to look at, enjoyable leveling and progression systems, interesting player classes and support units to try out, lots of games modes, doesn't feel pay-to-win; payed content includes: cosmetics, season-pass thing, increased XP and loot buffs, the usual FTP gambit - I haven't payed a cent and don't really feel like I need to... yet.

Cons: general connectivity and stability issues, overly crowded player hub, the lore and world building are puddle deep, some unit imbalances (you'll notice a "flavour of the month" unit that everyone stacks on because it's OP), a lack of options in the menus and HUD configuration (NAMES! NAMES EVERYWHERE!), a bit janky at times.

Conclusion: fun times to be had for sure - have a bash, it's free after all: 7/10

Note: a lot of people seem to go on about the "toxic player base", I can only assume they're correct because the first thing I did when I launched the game was to turn-off the chat log and mute the voice settings; If I were you, I'd go ahead and do that too, then just play with friends over Discord **shrug**

Pros: Cute anime cel-shaded aesthetic, joyful and bubbly atmosphere, highly polished models and animations, not overly restrictive for a FTP game.
Cons: Poorly optimised (lots of stuttering and frame drops), somewhat shallow leveling experience, missing a few quality-of-life features present in other MMOs, leans heavily into the borderline creepy weeb demographic.

A classic RPG in every sense, PoE is quite honestly hard to criticise through an objective lens - while there are several niggling annoyances, they are less faults and more purposeful design tropes, meant to better emphasise the classic style it expertly emulates.

Pros: Great story and character arcs, huge amounts of content (main story, side quests, tasks, etc.), well voiced dialog, fantastic world building and beautiful art direction, freedom of choice, open-ended, interesting combat and world mechanics, immersive and refreshing.

Cons: Text heavy, somewhat graphically dated, excessive loading screens, lots of back-and-forth world travel, somewhat visually clunky inventory system, combat can be mechanically overwhelming at times.

PoE knows what it is and who it is for - and it leans heavily into that knowing without exception or compromise; even if you can't fully appreciate it, it's hard not to respect the developers for their conviction to that vision.

9/10

Does a lot different and mostly succeeds - if you get the feels for H.P. Lovecraft, X-Files and Twin Peaks you'll have a good time. Slow burn, older style MMO experience with a strong focus on story - the combat feels a bit clunky (especially on high ping) and the graphics are dated. Still I would recommend it if you're looking for something different and just want to fall into story for while.

It's a fairly serviceable shooter with some interesting mechanics - the story and set pieces are the main selling points. Nothing ever comes close to Bioshock for believable world building and character development - solid game if somewhat let down by a rather tedious gameplay loop.

It's like, one of the best RPGs ever made or whatever - get the mods, have a blast and wonder what the **** happened to the games industry.
10/10 Game.
