Gonna update my review here.

Rimworld is without a doubt the greatest game that I have ever played. I played it for a few years before its eventual release on steam, and then its 1.0 release. Now with 1.1 on the rise, I thought I would take the time to update my 3 yearold review.

This game is a masterpiece. It's simplistic graphics and beautiful soundtrack make you think of a low budget indie game that you'll sink a few hours in and never touch again. It is the opposite. After around 4 years of playing, I find myself coming back and starting a new colony. Hoping to get further then the last, and just as greatness is within my grasp, everything falls apart. In the most beautiful cinematic way, that leaves you frustrated for a few minutes, before you boot the game up again and start anew.

Without a doubt though, the greatest thing about this game is its modding community. After years this game is still massively popular, and the modding community continues to grow. It's hard to describe, but if you know what the skyrim modding community (massive, continuous, and ever growing) is like, then it's similar.

Rimworld is a marvel of storytelling, creation, expansion, destruction, quirkiness, and everything I think a game possesses to make is great.
