Early Access Review
Already has a great base and i can see this get really big in the future.
Combat feels great imo and the skill ceiling is pretty high.
classes are unique and different weapons give you alternate movesets and an active skill specific to the weapon type.
on top of that you can level up your characters, unlock passive traits and active abilities.

For solos, pve is kinda rough. normal mobs are no problem but elites and bosses will give you a hard time when starting out.
The pvp in solo queue is a lot of fun and i had pretty fair fights most of the time.

There is a "fill team" option for team queue but i´d recommend playing with premades (official discord has lfg channels).
With a team, the bosses are very manageable and the biggest danger when fighting one are other players.
pvp in teams is chaotic as hell and can quickly turn into a war between 3-4 teams around hotspots.

can´t wait for new classes, maps and items.
so far, early access in mind, a really solid 8/10 that is only going to get better

10 years later and it is still the king of rogue-likes

and now it has online. sure, does not run perfectly smooth for now but still sick that they even went this far in the first place.
not even being exclusive to friends. you can just hop into games with randoms. really cool. playing this with 4 people is pure chaos and i love it. as soon as the slowdown/ lag gets smoothed out, it will be perfect

this is what a videogame should be. looks great, plays great, sounds great. there is absolutely no handholding and it is scratching that itch for exploration, while giving you a lot of freedom.
you can cheese stuff, you can "sequence break" to find secrets from different entrances or to just skip a few rooms. here and there.
whenever you get a new tool, a lot of new routes open up to you. nothing special for a metroidvania, but there are a lot of places that you think you can reach now and you actually still can´t. this creates a loop of "AHA!" moments and always keeps you looking for stuff you might have missed.
studying the map is really fun and it helps you a lot when trying to find areas that you haven´t been to yet. the map stamps are extremely helpful as well, as long as you use them. they can save you a lot of time that you would probably be spending by wandering around aimlessly instead. seriously, use them. as soon as you find something that you can´t deal with yet, or something that you just want to remember the location of, put a marker on it asap!

secrets in a game like this are what drive me forward and i could not stop exploring the whole map, until i had all of these stupid little eggs. i got all the achievements (and a few more things) now and it still feels like i am missing a lot.

speedrunning potential is really high and this might be the first game where i actually attempt to do some.

for me, at least a 9.5/10.

all they care about now is your money. new "DLC" every two weeks. they are not fixing bugs that exist for years, not caring about cheaters. there is no real new content outside of gun variants and them putting all the special ammo on all the guns (which is dumb, btw)
instead of hiring capable programmers that could actually help the game, they hire a monetization guy and remove BB accolades and make new skins more expensive., showing off their greed even more.
they need to earn money, i get that. but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on your community like that is not the way. ♥♥♥♥ you, crytek :)

i love unlockables and secrets and there are some good ones in this one.

it´s dead, even on this free weekend. shame, could be a good game otherwise.
for only singleplayer and offline versus not really worth it, maybe for 10 bucks
if you are somewhat decent at platform fighters, ranked mode will just be waiting in queue for five minutes, beating up a newbie who then proceeds to quit in the middle of the second match (probably after you killed them once or they simply self destructed)
"Opponent left. You win by default!" is something you will see very often.

also before the free weekend the active playercount was 50 - 70 and i doubt that it will be much higher after.

crazy unbalanced, hitting 10 headshots with the starting gun, they don´t die. get hit by shotgun, die instantly
the maps suck ass
cards can be spammed too fast and are not telegraphed whatsoever. you barely know whats going on half the time and there is no time to look at the cards that have been played because the maps are too small and you always have someone (with a better gun or sword) up your ass
the gunplay feels awful
the movement feels awful
the matchmaking is awful

i really wanted to like this game but it just feels horrible. instant refund and no chance of me coming back to it

the game is really solid. i´m not a huge fan of mech stuff but it works pretty well.
performance is good, even on HDD. didn´t experience any lag or huge frame drops.
i got disconnected mid-match once. not a big deal for a beta, but there is no reconnect feature implemented yet, so you gotta queue for next match. you do unlock stuff/ money and level up but there is no customizing menu or shop yet, which is kinda weird. i did see someone with a different equipment tho, so idk. maybe it existed in earlier tests and carried over to this beta?

currently there only is "dino survival" which is a 5v5 pvp mode that starts as a "race" and ends in a random showdown.
those can be a "push the tower/ payload" thing like in Splatoon/ OW/ Paladins etc. or a different objective entirely. but all of them include a ♥♥♥♥ ton of dinosaurs.

during the race, both teams are in their own "parallel universe/ plane" and you can´t interact with them. each time after clearing an objective, the announcer will tell you if you are ahead or behind and you can see the red "ghosts" of the other teams players for a short time.

i really like the showdowns at the end, when both teams enter the same plane and the actual pvp(ve) starts. the idea of the racing part is pretty cool but i´d wish for more impact. right now, you could just ignore the racing and skip right to the pvp and it would be the same experience. the whole thing actually reminds me a lot of kirby air ride or smash run but without the fun part of getting stat boosts etc. before the final showdown,

all in all, cool ideas but not at their full potential yet. i hope this gets addressed, otherwise the game won´t live very long.

pure pve would be boring as hell (seriously, why would you want that?) and just the pvp would be too similar to hero shooters like overwatch, even if there are dinosaurs running around.
