MAKES 2 SANDWICHES

Ingredients:

• ½ yellow onion (thinly sliced)
• 2 tbsp. butter (divided)
• 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
• ½ lb. ground beef
• 1 tbsp. dried or ground thyme (divided)
• ½ tsp. rosemary
• Salt
• Pepper
• ½ tbsp. (1 ½ tsp.) Worcestershire sauce
• 4 slices sourdough bread
• 4 slices Swiss cheese

Directions:

1. Melt 1 tbsp. of butter in skillet and sauté onions on low, stirring frequently. Halfway through, add apple cider vinegar.
2. While onions are cooking, prepare patties. Mix ground beef w/ rosemary, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Form into patties.
3. When onions are softened/jammy, remove and reserve. Turn heat to medium and, when hot, add patties.
4. When patties are done, melt remaining butter and stir in thyme. Brush on one side of each bread slice.
5. On bare side of bread, place cooked hamburger and layer w/ onions and Swiss. Place sandwich butter side down on skillet, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melting. Repeat for other side.
