Terrible. Actually ruins the game. Terrible items, terrible maps, terrible bugs.

What has Gearbox been doing that they managed to break what actually worked???

Haven't played Classic, find this version to be all I really need. One of the most autistic games I've ever played in the best of ways. Might need to look up a couple guides to getting started, but I recommend only watching/reading up to the very basics of getting an outpost set up. The fun is there is no right or wrong way to play. Look for megaproject inspiration when you have a good grasp on the basics.

The game is literally unplayable right now. Crashes before a month even passes, regardless if it's a new or old fortress.

Impossible to tell what is causing it, as I am playing 100% vanilla. I have tried troubleshooting everything I can think of, searching for my issues, but there is no help to be found.

^As it turns out, my map was bigger than the game even normally allowed somehow. It was 16x16, which needed insane resources to run. I don't remember HOW I managed to get that, but I generated a new world as another attempt and played with the embark size settings and noticed I could shrink my location but not make it bigger again.

So... National Guard are great if you need to fight. But they suck in the event of a natural disaster clearing rubble. Which is kind of... wrong? NatGuard are used IRL for natural disasters all the time. They should be great for technical jobs.

Other than that, pretty decent.

Soulless, filesize bloat, boring.

Justifies its own existence as a better version of the original. No content removed, only added. Options to play in Classic 2013 mode.

If unsure of whether to buy the 2013 version or this, Returns wins.

Very intuitive, great pricepoint (except for the reason this review turned negative, the extra seats "microtransaction" is absolutely terrible), and really easy to import external content. Hands down the best VTT on the market right now.


OK more thoughts on the extra seats charging:

I get that it's for people who may have multiple groups who are unwilling to spend $25 to join a campaign. That's an understandable hurdle the Devs were trying to alleviate. But the pricepoint of a seat being over half the full game's cost feels incredibly steep, despite the program being such a great price for what it is in full. The discount on 4 seats doesn't make it any easier to accept.

My message to the devs is to listen to this feedback and do more market research, or ask your customer base and try to figure out the most pleasing middle ground. My own vote would be closer to $7, making the total price for a GM with a standard table of 4 to end up around (25+28=$53)

Hella buggy, highly Pay to Win.

Just get Garry's Mod. It's less buggy, better balanced, and somehow looks less of an asset flip.

Also the achievements are really weird. An achievement for reviewing the game? Lame.

I doubt this game will ever get finished.

The Scrapbox should just be a part of the normal gameplay experience, and let's face it, that's why you're considering FO1st.

Servers are so small that private worlds don't make a difference.

The unique cosmetics aren't worth it, either. Their luster wears off as you find something else you like more.

It doesn't have the DLC.
