I don't understand the hate I see so often with this game. For me, there is no better and more immersive 4X randomly generated world game out there. Everything about the game is built to bring me more into the role of shaping a people. The civics system makes me feel like I am truly creating a culture. The evolving cultures help keep everything seem fresh, rather I want to roleplay or min max into something I need to improve with. There are things that could be better. The balance is questionable at best. It feels very much like the developers think what sounds cool and makes it happen. I do not like how the city naming system works, so I always make up my own. But overall, none of this ruins the experience.

Maybe it is just because I am more casual player, but I never get lost in this game compared to Civ 6. I enjoy it far more.

Also it runs better on Linux. That helps a ton too!
