Early Access Review
This is going to be a interesting one
My review is based on the first vertical slice we got so keep this in mind.

I am going to start with who should be playing this. If you loved space engineers 1 for the survival aspect and you want a "normal" game you can play for hours you should wait for vertical slice 2. If you want to support the devs or just want to build cool ships go ahead give it a try.

Pros first:
*The new building system is amazing, building stuff feels very natural and the new grid system makes stuff possible that wasnt possible before. In my 4 hours of playtime i have had several "oh ♥♥♥♥ i could do this " moments which put a really big smile on my face.

*Graphics are better

*Destruction is cool and feels way better

*Music is also very good

*Performance is good

Cons:

*It doesnt even feel like an early access alpha. It doesnt have a dozen features it has like 3-4 and thats it. It's not bad because the devs kinda communicated everything in their roadmaps but i didnt expect it to be this shallow (espcially since they had "many other things" listed for the vertical slice 1 release.

*The amount of blocks currently in this game is almost laughable

*doors dont work

*Grids dont have power

*Controlls can't be edited

*Current UI looks horrible

*Inventory for ships isnt in

*Conveyors are not in (which is kind of the worst part?Cause even if you want to build ships for the future of this game none of the vehicles you will build in this vertical slice will be truly functional in survival or later versions of the game)
Game freezes when placing a plane of small blocks

and many other things (might add more to this review later)

Additional Feedback:

*I dont know seing that this is a sequel i kind of expected more changes/additions to the core gameplay (not just the volumetric water that they got planed and better looking planets) i mean like actaual iterations on what the game allows you to do:
Slow walking still feels very jank because the character walks too fast
A Tractor beam so we can stop moving objects if they start moving whilst building

So yeah i gave it a would recommend but this is probably one of the most 50/50 recommendations i have had ever to give:
I bought it so i can support the devs in hopes that se 2 once it leaves ea might become an even better product but if you expect a cool game from the get go i would advise everyone to wait

So I have around 315 hours in cyberpunk because i have been trying to figure out why i am so torn on whether i like it or not.

Let's get the elefant out of the room first: The hype
In 2018 CDPR released a 48 minute gameplay demo of cyberpunk. This demo seriously hurt CDPR because of false advertisment. I remember watching this demo 4-5 times because I was so hyped, even told all my friends constantly for 4 years that Cyberpunk was going to be the best game ever (oh how wrong i was). CDPR showed many features that never made it into the game (wall climbing, hacking, decision that actually change the outcome of scenarios, the coolest skill upgrade UI in any game), they also showed the world in a completely different way then it actually ended up. Stuff like billions of npc's walking on the street in a very believeable way. Now to be fair the game was still in development at the time so it was obvious that some things would change but they cut sooo many things that would have made the game actually great...if they wouldnt have shown us these features no one would have complained but hey here we are with a 48 minute demo of what the game was actually supposed to be like. Also i'd like to add that when cyberpunk was announced they said it would be an RPG but right before release they changed it to action rpg (or just action game dont really remember) to make up for the missing features they intended to be in the game.

First things first: The art, the music, the city, the setting....everything is *breathtaking*

Even the story is great with some major flaws (inconsistencies, logical flaws and some very weird decisions that took place like putting some very exciting stuff behind a 2 minute cutscene). But all in all I like the story because it does what it set out to do -> Show you that almost no story has a happy ending in night city, which i like and respect.

something i really don't like is that after finishing the tutorial, V gets told that he/she has a limited time left to live, but it isn't really incorporated into the gameplay which is a huge missed oppertunity in my opinion

Some sidequests are really cool and have genuinely cool concepts but most gigs feel like filler but not the good type of filler where you are glad that you are able to play more of the game but they feel more like checkboxes. Same goes for the cyberpsycho missions.

Here comes to main part of my complaint: The gameplay
The gameplay is just soooo meh.
Gunplay feels okay

Cybernectic enhancements don't really give you the option to become a murder machine like you'd expect? We are talking about humans enhanced with mechanical parts so tell me why the ♥♥♥♥ can i only have one arm enhancement slot? It's like you are one tenth of a terminator. "Hey you are a mechanically enchanced human and all you can do is double jump" (lol).

Mantis blade and melee gameplay is sooo unbelievably simple that i just wanna smash my head against my desk

The game doesnt really put you in interesting scenarios where you have to use your brain or your abilities in a smart way.

Even the last boss (adam smasher before the patch) was soo bad.

The hacking gameplay loop is a joke ( in the 2018 demo they showed a really cool concept in which the player hacks into the enemy network and he was able to do a bunch of stuff to either the building itself or the guys in the building, this however was cut and replaced with a very simplified system, yeah i obviously dont like the new system). But not only that the whole other hacking system where you can hack individual people is very simple and feels like a point and click game. For a game set in the cyberpunk universe you would expect hacking to be more important or have more thought put into it.

For the amount of effort they put into the believability into this world its really hard to roleplay in this game. Let players be able to smoke a cigarette wherever they want, give them more random places to visit maybe even with npc's like in gta. There is a consumable menu but it's about as simple as you'd expect.

Add random events like trauma team arriving and trying to save people, but no instead they made crimescenes static places.

There is a mod called "Let there be flight" which shows how great the game could have been with a little bit more time. Everything in night city is modelled out even places where the devs didnt expect you to be. This mod shows you night city from another perspective and i think everyone that played the game should have been able to see it from this perspective just because it's so great. So yeah flyable cars would have added a lot to immersion.

Conclusion: I would definitely recommend cyberpunk to almost everyone that enjoys story driven games. Sure i got my fair issues with it but all in all it's not that bad that I'd say i dont recommend it. It has a believeable world, brilliant atmosphere, cool designs (cars,building,residents/cyberware) and pretty average gameplay. HOWEVER i really don't understand how people can say it's the best game ever made?

Also: i am gonna keep adding to this review, when more things come to my mind
