Early Access Review
The game has come a long way since the first closed alpha, and it for sure seems to be going in the right direction. For the people with complaints about unbalanced items and gods.... Yes.
This is an alpha version of the game. They just added the biggest patch of the games life with many many items being ported from smite 1. People are saying there isn't the same amount as content as smite 1, which is correct because It's an alpha. The game is not at all ready for a full release.

If you want a similar experience to smite 1 in terms of balance and content, wait until the full release when the game is free to play. For now, only buy this if you want to support the next generation of smite.

The one complaint I do agree with is the fact that you have to pay for the gods Individual "ascension passes"... If, upon actual release of the full version of the game, these god specific passes are not purchasable with in game currency like the legendary skins from smite 1, my review may change. Locking basic progress behind a paywall is dumb and predatory.

Fun game, absolutely hilarious at times, though it's a little short (Nothing the modding community can't fix), 100%'ed the game in about 4 hours. Got an S rank on all songs except the final boss one, hunting that next. Would reccomend

It's a fun and short little game. It's pretty fast paced and apart from one or two bugs it feels fairly well polished.

Being free and a game by a student, I can certainly overlook its flaws.

Missing features: Single-player campaign or story mode, Server browser for non-portal modes, Standard multiplayer game modes (such as Team Deathmatch) outside portal, Persistent lobbies, in-game assignments for unlocks, Class system, character customization options, Stats page in the game menu, Battle logs and stat trackers for other players, Global leaderboards, Custom emblem support, Spectator mode (Rip tournaments), Permanent community servers, Weapons test range, weapon variety, Infantry gadgets, Manual leaning, Diving underwater, Crouch sprinting, Backward prone position, Explosion knockback, Ammo or health pickup from teammates in battle (Has to be given manually by the players), Melee weapon options, Thermal optics, Indirect fire gadgets, Anti-tank weapon variety (One single rocket launcher....), Lock-on launchers (Again, only 1.) AP mines and claymores, Suppression fire, Vehicle variety, Naval vehicles/boats, Directional indicator for vehicle gunner, Lock-on direction indicator, Animations for entering or exiting a vehicle, Customization options for drivers and pilots seperate from gunners, Tank zoom preference customization, Tank gunner preference customization, Secondary weapons for helicopter gunner, Separate controls for helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft, Control input while engaged in free looking while piloting aircraft, Support for joystick controls, Behemoth vehicles, Squad wipe scores, Player damage points, Vehicle damage points, Vehicle kill assist points, Headshot bonus, Multi-kill bonuses, Killstreak stopped bonus, Comeback bonus, Squad objective participation bonuses, Long range kill bonus, Commanders, Squad call-in special abilities, Field upgrades for squads, In-game VoIP (WITH 1/3 GAMEMODES BEING SUPPOSEDLY SQUAD FOCUSED HARD CORE SURVIVAL PVP THAT RELIES ON COMMUNICATION?!?!?!?!), Faction variety, Cross-team chat/global chat, Team changing, Option to create a new squad (Cause ♥♥♥♥ me and my friends I guess), Self-promote to squad leader if the current one doesn't give objective calls, Clans or platoons, View of squad mates while waiting to spawn, Proper map rotation, Number of maps in the base game (7.... this one is just.... literally a game killer....), Static weapon placement, Number of destructible buildings and structures, Balance between infantry and vehicles, Maps with an infantry focus, Level changes to dynamically alter the match, Cover for infantry between capture zones, Spawn point quality, Building or area for infantry fortification, Number of maps in urban settings, Naval maps, Any hints of war going on in the map, any consistency with the game's lore and setting, a map that you can zoom in to not accidentally spawn on teammates, Number of UI customizations, Opacity options for HUD elements, Scaling options for HUD elements, Reticle customization, Scoreboard for individual players, Details on the death camera screens, Full support for displays wider than 16:9, Useful options for joining friends in match, Ability to toggle crossplay options in-game AND MORE. The game looks more empty both in graphics and content than a game that come out in 2010. Not only that, they have the nerve to make you pay for a battlepass that hasn't even been released yet.... and the update to add a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scoreboard (No new content confirmed) is delayed until SUMMER... That'll be, at BEST, seven months after the game was released.

This is a literal scam, and every person who is in charge of pushing this game out despite it clearly being unfinished should be absolutely ashamed.

I paid $80 for this and despite the game literally using false advertisements in their trailers and promises I have been refused a refund by both Steam and EA. The game came out. It's been nearly 4 months since the game release, and we haven't had a single content update.

This is a joke. You're paying for a Alpha test key and a bag of promises. This is the last time I am ever buying a battlefield product, and I have been a hardcore fan for the past Decade.

Has some issues, but the new game mode is a lot of fun and the dragon hatchlings are adoreable. Would reccomend this game as it is a very unique gameplay-loop and it's free to play, so there is no reason not to play it.

Honestly, the game is a lot of fun, but three games in a row had game-breaking bugs for me, which is just not fun.

To spend 40+ minutes on a game only for one of the AI's to break and just stand there doing nothing... it sucks. A potential fix would to give the AI the same timer as the players, so if the AI can't figure out where to move it won't completely break the game.

Big shame, cause the gameplay is great...

It was fun for what it was, but I can't leave a positive review despite the game being free. Some of the sound effects to help you keep rhytms are hilariously off beat, and if your rhytm game isn't on the rhytm... then I can't say I'd reccomend it.

I'd reccomend removing the loud sound before you are meant to slash as it is off beat and distracting.
