It's not for everyone. It's very hard, it's not good looking and a bit laggy. I think you will fancy this if you value a tactical challange and realistic outcomes.

So The Descendant is a near future Sci-fi game/movie/adventure game revolving around two protagonists in past/present.

The story is intresting and some times a bit scary and the music is really good and adding to the suspense. The voiceacting is top class and the environments are intresting and keeps you exploring, searching and thinking about what happend and what this place is.

I hade some problems in some places where the game froze or my mouse disapeard but I were eager to se the stoy unfold so continoud anyway.
The loading screens were kinda anoying, and were a bit close to each other some times.

It's not a very long game time I suppose, and I were exploring most of the scenes for hidden stuff. I guess this is a game you can compare with movies and in that perspective 5 or so hours is a long play time.

Pros:
-Superb voice acting
-Intresting story
-Good music
-Suspense

Cons:
-Had to restart game a few times becuase bugs
-Loading screens

Overall I'd say it's a 7,5/10

I gave it a shoot when I saw the tags Sci-fi and Noir wich imidiatly got me thinking about Blade Runner. There is some similarities in style and atmosphere but I found me wanting a bit more Sci-fi esque enviroments. Although it might be the Noir theme shing through but personaly I lean to hard and dark Sci-fi more.

The puzzles where overall quite good and the music and sound is good, although some puzzles require item combination wich there are no instructions or hints to how it should be done (Hint, bring up the invetory by pressing on a clickable item in the world..). Visuals are a bit to rough for my taste, even though I understand that they are supposed to be like old school adventure/point-and-click games.

The story started kind of slow but towards the end when the different threads started to come together it got better and better.

In the end, yes I did enjoy the game for the most part and would recommend it if you like the premisses.

+ Intresting and clever story
+ Voice acting
- A bit dull enviroments
- Sometimes clumsy item handling

Just watched the end, and I have been bearly been able to let the game go. Deus Ex gives us a good amount of freedom, but because it's a hybrid it's not the best at everything but certanly not bad at anything. My aproache was a mix of stealth and action, if it were civilians for example i prefered stealth and diden't kill them. But in the case of mercenaries I diden't show as much mercy.

The story and the world is well fleshed out if you want to dig into it, and it may give you a heads up or two about the world we live in. I'm a sci-fi fan and i realy like this gritty near future setting they have exapnded upon. It feels belivable. If you like the Blade Runner universe this may also apeal to you. I caught myself several times just watching the scenery admiring the architecture and the visual style. I feelt like I was born in the wrong age..

More augumentation options would been appreciated, at mid game I feelt like I diden't need any of the uppgrades I had left. There is also more than a few loadingscreens wich feelt annoying at times, running it on a SSD might make this less of a issue. I can't say much negative about the game other than that!
