I don't generally like shooters. However, this game is rather fun, especially in Co-op PVE game modes. If you want a challenge do hard mode or go into a Normal or Hard mode of the Special Ops. Those are fun, but a pain to do if you aren't confident in your group and self, and especially hard if you don't know the map.

The game isn't forcing you to do PVP either, so you don't have to worry about Player Killing (PK) unless you go into Hard mode or do actual PVP matches. The game does offer a good amount of various types of PVP matches and even little 3 hour challenges to complete too for just that higher amount of success.

In PVE you have a lot of missions to choose from, 6 Co-op ones (5 of which change every day), and a dozen or so Special Ops missions.

And if you like playing female characters, don't threat. You can still play as them provided you shell out a little cash to get them. Currently available Aurora squad, and Guerilla squad.

Personally, I do like the game, and the weapons look very realistic, right down to the serial numbers being visible. In addition, some classes can't push like a tank or SED could in other games, which makes sense, since this game is somewhat trying for a realism factor. However, realism is subdued by the fact that you can regenerate armor and health, but meh. For a multiplayer online FPS like this, I'd expect at least that much.

... UPDATE 3 April 2020
If you want to PVP, this game sucks, it is no were near as good in PVP as CS:GO nor even games like ArcheAge (yes that bad). The game is full of hackers in PvP game modes that constantly use wall shooting hacks and aim bots. Reporting them does nothing. Complaining to people in-game does nothing. Eventually, most either start cheating themselves or quit. and I don't mean rage quit, but just 'quit'. I say it as just 'quit' because My.Games claim that if you intentionally play with others that are hacking you'd be ban too, but out of two 12 hour days of nothing but PvP, I officially am dropping this game. And can no longer recommended it for PvP to anyone that want something entertaining to do during this 30 to 60 days of stay-at-home orders. :-(

I still though recommend it for the PvE portion of the game. It is enjoyable, but gets BORING FAST! Note: I capitalized it to emphasize just how boring you'd get with the same maps over and over. And don't bother doing HARD mode. Once I unlocked it, I found it was just a resurrect coin sink. That means often times the medic (if any, most of the time none are in the queue) will get defeated, and then the rest of the team gets beaten... except for those that are willing to shell out the resurrection coins on themselves to prevent the map/group from failing the mission. It is a cash sink in that regard. 100 Resurrection Coins = 990 Kredits which is about 10 USD$.

Ultimately, I still like the game, but I don't think I'll be playing it much anymore because of the cheaters with wall hacks and aim bots, speed hacks, and so on. That is PvP not even Ranked PvP. In PvE though, I like it but at best PvE is mostly casual play.

If anything changes differently, I'll update or post a new review of the game.

Defiance 2050 tries to put the ideas of a class system to use but, does it very sloppily. The Combat Medic doesn't really do much healing nor support as it should. The class overall doesn't feel like it belongs in this game. And most classes don't shine until they are fully learned and you have their Synergy Crystals.

This game has vehicles in it, what's wrong with that? You can't control your vehicle the same way you did in the original Defiance. The vehicles maneuver abruptly and without warning, overcompensate. You'll end up hitting something, especially if you use the boosters.

Gear progression, the true endgame content of most games, this game doesn't do well. At max power level (5,000), you would think that the higher the power level of any given weapon you have, the more DPS they do, the more DPS the weapons do the more likely you would deal large amounts of damage and have very quick kills of enemies. WRONG! The damage of a low power level weapon used on a low power level character kills enemies just as fast as a higher power level weapon on a higher power level character does to the same enemies.

The game does have a P2W (Pay to Win) element to it. You can get better weapons and gear at the end of major ark fall events, and increase your power rating faster the more Purified Gulanite you buy from the cash shop. Just remember power rating means nothing.

There is a lot of kill stealing in this game, and it impacts your standing on the leader board as well as what gear you can get from the merchant at the end of the major ark fall or siege event. You would think both you and the other person would get the same amount of credit for the kill, but you don't. The person that did the kill gets it added to their achievements, and a higher amount of points added to their score for the leader board rating.

Overall, I like the game, but it is no were even remotely near being perfect. However, I would recommend it as a time waster or if you were remotely interested in the discontinued show by the same name "Defiance". Otherwise, you might not like it for anything beyond casual play. But at least the community isn't toxic thankfully.

Okays first off, I don't understand why Steam version requires my Steam account to be the one I use instead of the account I already have on SkyForge that is now 183 prestige level with over 2,000 played hours. And there no way to really work around it and be able to purchase anything from Steam to go on your older non-steam accounts...

-----------------------------------
- Grinding and sorta P2W -
-----------------------------------
The game starts out being sorta enjoyable in the past when all you had to do after the Ascension update was follow the yellow brick road to unlock class temples, which unlocked the classes too. Now though, you have to either grind for sparks of transformation currency, or buy the class packs. This part sorta makes the game pay-to-win, because some classes are way more useful than the first three you get for free. Example most would play Grovewalker or Knight over Paladin as a tank. Most would choose Alchemist over lightbinder, especially if they had the Alchemist's Aelerium-9 skill.

-----------------------------------
- The REAL P2W -
-----------------------------------
The game really becomes P2W (Pay-to-Win) when you realize that in order to make it to the 180s and the 190s of prestige you need to not focus on equipment to carry you that high only, but to focus both on equipment and hall of trophies, as well as completing all your bastions, tower of knowledge and followers for the Cathedral. The hall of trophies has a lot of trophies that modify the might received from those three sources (bastions, tower of knowledge, and cathedral). Some of these trophies only cost a few victor medals, with few meaning 2000, 6000, etc. victor medals. Those are easily gotten from doing directives every day, which can take anywhere from 1 min to 4 hours to complete. I'll get to why the discrepency in a moment.

Back to the Hall of Trophies. The victor medals needed for it, can't be all gotten from directives. You'd be playing for the next 5 or 10 years to just get all the trophies that are there right now. And in coming months, can expect them to add another rank to that. So you have to buy argents via real world money to then use the argents to buy victor medals. This can mean that you could spend thousands of USD to just get to Rank 4 for all the Hall of Trophies that affect Might levels. NOTE: There other trophies that make it where you get more gear from dungeons, keep yourself alive longer, and bring in credits from weekly tokens that you only get when you have that companion skill.

-----------------------------------
- Directives don't give any help to F2P -
-----------------------------------
So now for the reason as to the discrepency in the amount of time to do directives... It is because you can stim (Stimulant) them. Stimulants are an item you can get either via the weekly premium rank reward, may have a chance from chests, and mostly from the in game cash shop. Argents are needed to buy them from the cash shop and they can get to be expensive, just 60 worth is 14,400 argents when they aren't on sale. Stimulants allow you to skip anything that is a quest short of story like quests. Namely, the story quests you may have in your daily directives, and the story quests you have if you start the 3 stories up in the campaign window. :-( They are really boring and only 2 give you any sort of items, and they are both cosmetic.

-----------------------------------
- NO Endgame -
-----------------------------------
Oh and if you think you'll be at endgame just by playing the game. Well, there is no true endgame in Skyforge, its just an endless grind for Might, currencies and gear upgrades. You won't be doing Distortions nor Champion Avatar runs anytime soon if you just starting, and might not even be able to even if you started months ago. It can be because of guilds requiring 190 or higher prestige to do it, or you can take a chance and pug it like I had to do to get my elder god unlocked. But until you get that grinding in junior god and the first 4 divine halls unlocked, well... You shouldn't run Champ Avatar.

-----------------------------------
- Challenge System Update -
-----------------------------------
The new changes with Challenge, Warmup and Nightmare modes, is pathetic. The game is now punishing anyone that doesn't pay thousands of USD in argents to up their MIGHT stat, in getting gear. Yes, that means you get gear that is one generation less than the current generation, which means you barely able to do the content solo. The system will upscale you to the content you trying to run in Warmup if you don't meet the requirement for it/Challenge mode of that content. This means that you end up with stats that look impressive with health higher than 220.0 G (billion) and Might in the Character window would read 750,000 Might or higher. But that's where it just numbers. The actual gameplay feel would reveal to you that the values are nothing but window dressing.

What I mean is, you will end up getting hurt a lot, feeling as if you can't solo it. And it would take 15 to 30 mins for what you could have done on the older system in under 5 mins. Now, that's not all. Warmup only drops old gear and low amount of credits. Challenge and Nightmare modes drop current gear and a large amount of credits per run. Therefore, the game developers are trying to literally hurt players that are new and/or returning.

Use to you could get a higher level to take you in to get the current version of the gear that was out, even if you didn't meet the minimum requirements, that no longer happens. And even if you do meet the minimum requirements now. If you can't keep up with those requirements then you'll be stuck again.

-----------------------------------
- WORST OF IT ALL -
-----------------------------------
The pay to win in this game with the new challenge system forces players to either pay to stay relevant or eventually fall behind because they aren't putting enough money into their characters on the game. Example, me a weekago. I was just starting 182 prestige level, but I was according to the table of equipment for this invasion, able to run the dungeons to get the equipment I needed. I even ran the dungeon on Nightmare that Tuesday, note Nightmare requires 192 to have an easy time at it. I solo'd Nightmare of Tarlen Aquifer and got my Gen 13 bracelet from it. The next day, I was block out, and the Support stated that I shouldn't have even been able to play it and that until I met the minimum requirement prestige of 183 , I wouldn't be able to run it on that mode again. Then another person from support stated that I wouldn't be able to run it until 193. LOL, I grinded for 12-hours a day to get high enough to be 183. That took over 2 weeks to do for me as a premium player. And I can run Tarlen Aquifer now again under Challenge mode.

What I'm getting at is, the game is pay to win (P2W) and unlike games like Blade and Soul, TERA, and others, you will get to points unless you are max prestige where you get stuck and can't progress further. When that happens you are forced to pay or grind like there is no tomorrow trying to progress.

-----------------------------------
- Would I recommend this game -
-----------------------------------
NO! And yes, it is that easy to say.

Nothing more needs to be added, but if you like the concept of the game, which I'm at over 2,000 hours on my account so there is something about it I liked for a while. Maybe try it, who knows maybe you can justify the funds needed to progress there ... but I can not.

I love the game, more so than I did Euro Truck Simulator 2. In part because of the long nose Peterbilt 389 that comes with the game and the long nose W900 that comes with it too.

The game does like all simulation games get very repetitive, but that is to be expected because you are driving 2 lane roads, interstates, etc. to pick up and deliver your loads. It can be made to simulate real life truck driving to an extent, very small extent in my opinion, but still its nice if you are a big rig enthusiast or have ever liked semi trucks in the past it works out well in that regard.

Now, I will say this, this isn't all about likes, I do dislike that its better to play this game with more than 2 monitors (aka 3 or 4 monitors). Also, the limited amount of official trucks is bad in my opinion. You can get more, but they are custom mods that you can download from all over the net, and in this day and age, I rather not and wait on SCS to eventually release more trucks. Currently there 4 official trucks 2 from Kenworth (aerodynamic T680, or the classic W900) and from Peterbilt (the aerodynamic 579 or the classic looking 389).

I highly recommend at least starting the game out without mods running so you can get a few laughs like when I first saw Penny's (which real life company would be Wendy's) and Wallbert (which well you know, Wal-Mart), etc. :) It gave the game a little giggle factor at first, but it doesn't last.

I love some of the classic long nose trucks (W900 and 389) customizations, the stock ones are nice, and even some of the mods are even better too for it. If you like looking at show rigs or show trucks, then expect to spend loads of time bouncing around from a Peterbilt 389 that you customized to be all show truck like and a Kenworth W900 that you made into a show truck too. Sadly, you can't take them to shows in the game, but use them as work horses. :) At least you don't have to worry about all the road grim and all when it comes to truck wash time.

I would like a few changes to the game. Expanded roads and less drain on graphics when you go to Vegas. With a i7 4770s + GTX 980 and 3 1080p monitors, the graphics would drop from 60 to 45 and sometimes lower FPS, yet maintain 60 FPS when driving practically anywhere else, but maybe LA.

The other change I would add, is to make the game a bit more realistic by allowing players the option to turn on the ability to keep log books, at least simulate greasing the fifth wheel, and simulate doing the pre-trip check list and the post-trip check list. Among other things. This then would make the game a bit varied than just the same old pick up load here at point A drive and park load at point B. Then it be like check truck for all maintenance issues first, drive to point A, check in with gate guard, back in and pick up load, inspect trailer and load to be secure as well as truck if necessary (pre trip), then drive out verify things with gate guard, go to point B and do the same stuff but to drop the trailer off... (post trip stuff)... lol be a lot more involved of a game then...

However, even as is, I still recommend this game because its just fun for all of us that like big rigs. Reminds me of childhood and dreaming of driving trucks one day even though I never got went to do that once I got older. :)

Really at first a nice game, especially nice were some of the gods costumes you could get for gods like Bastet, Arachne, Medusa, and others. The overall game play was nice even for someone not interested in MOBA and/or PVP in general. But that is about as far as it goes with saying positive things about this game.

No game out there has a balanced setup of characters, but this game has some characters so balanced that they are really ineffective unless you make custom builds for them. However, the recommended items for this are never listed on the inventory buying area for the character you have to do all items, in order to find the effective ones...

Oh, and don't think you can do your weekly quests or even event quests by doing Co-Op vs AI game play like a friend of mine on there thought. It don't work that way... The Hi-Rez people make sure you have to play Normal mode to be able to clear those quests... :( One other reason I don't recommend it.

The community is as toxic as it gets, especially when you either play with or encounter "Ranked" players and the group is getting had by other "Ranked" players... And in many cases those "Ranked" players will see either a starter god (one of the 5 like Neith) or a "balanced" god like Medusa and/or Freya and single them out even if they are grouped tight with their group trying to protect them. What rubish that is when as a game it supposed to be fun and a nice time waster.

And there is the other issue, it is none of these really. You spend a lot of gems on things like costumes for the gods or limited edition costumes... You spend time trying to get Favor for other items, maybe you even brought a few boosters too for all that. In the end, its really not helpful for anything. Boosters may help you get to Level 30 player level fast and get Favor fast, but thats all... Good Will does nothing but add at the most 10 favor to your reward, so leaving a match before time isn't hurtful at all to the player other than a lock out that scales from 30 mins, 60 mins, 2 hours, to 4 hours in duration.

The game really isn't that interesting to play beyond an hour here and there... No storyline, no cool graphics, no upgrading gods to be better unlike League of Legends, no supportive community, no real anything... It is just a CS:GO without the FPS shooter aspect, and you play as a third person character with limited MMORPG like abilities that fall within the MMORPG trinity... :(

I don't recommend this game, because it leaves a lot to be desired. I do recommend it to the few that enjoy MOBAs and CSGO game playstyles. But as a MMORPG'er and MOBA player, I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone except for a quick battle here and there.

This is a very nice game. It will take a while to get gear that can land heavy things. However, it provides a lot of ways to get it and as a pass time type casual game... which all fishing should be, it is rather great.

I would like to have more areas to fish yes. However, its fun to just go out there and fish to relax even while at a desktop or laptop.

Knight looks nice, but the shoulders and elbow pieces look odd... Also the armor is only on the torso, no leg armor is shown on screen. Nore is anything like a shield, etc. It would have looked better if it had a sword that you could hold or a shield that you could hold... but the weapon addon DLC all it does is give you a weapon on your back :( So can't say I'm a fan of this Knight Outfit... I like it, only cause it is armor and not just some cloth outfit, but I don't like it cause it seems like pieces of it were just an after thought.

Well... I got the chocolate outfit... However, the upside down hearts, :( Not liking that... The overall look looks a bit depressing, since it could have been a lot better like the mud character in the game or even the slime character in the game. This sadly wasn't the case. I would recommend this to anyone that likes the slime, mud, goo style, but sadly this is lacking for me on this outfit.

Most of the sword isn't even visible on the screen, It looks nice, what of it you can see, but having brought all the weapons, I can't say I recommend any of them since they are mostly cut off by the screen... and all they do is sit on the back of the avatar and do nothing.
