Looks great, runs well, no $70 upcharge on PC, and NO ORIGIN. Feels just like the original and plays like like how you remember it played, but better.

Motive hasn't just fixed a few quality of life issues here; they've added content and made subtle but significant changes to the entire experience. The most important changes are those made to the tram system and the zero gravity sequences, as these further open up the game's world, making the Ishimura seem even more cavernous and desolate than it did in the original. All of the other changes that I've noticed range from massive improvements to acceptable, welcomed differences. Motive clearly has a reverence for the original, and the finished product comes across as such. They did a great job.

If you haven't played Dead Space before, it's a masterpiece and this is the definitive version. If you've played it before and enjoyed it, I'd say there's enough different here to warrant a purchase at full price. It's that good.

Best old school shooter of all time and yes, that includes Doom. If you go into this expecting to circle strafe your way to victory, you're going to have a bad time. Blood is a different type of shooter. It's packed to the brim with hitscanning enemies and deadly traps that start from the first map and never let up. You will die repeatedly at first, but you'll soon realize that the tools at your disposal are just as powerful as those of your enemies. This game has the perfect arsenal. Every weapon is incredibly powerful and remains viable throughout your entire playthrough, even on higher difficulties. Do not underestimate the flare gun and LEARN HOW TO THROW DYNAMITE. Nothing is more satisfying than dropping a dime on a group of cultists and sending them into orbit with the ensuing explosion. Everything about this game is essentially perfect. The level design, atmosphere, sound design, sprite work, voice work, and general creativity are all top notch. The gameplay is fast-paced, balls-to-the-wall stuff; punishing, but always satisfying and (mostly) fair. Stop reading this and buy it.

You know the combat system is brilliant because it's the hardest FromSoft game when you first start, but it becomes the easiest once you figure it out. Perfect game.
