For those who enjoy games like Final Fantasy Tactics (Specifically Advanced). This is a rogue-like that emphasizes positioning, minimizing risks, and reading comprehension (or experience through trial-and-error because you misunderstood what a thing does).
One thing I don't like is Fio isn't using a revolver, but that is just me loving the old sprite work from previous entries

A fun gimmicky 2 character Rogue-like deck builder. There are many cards locked behind progression with characters, and a progression of difficulty with modifiers. Some items are single character dependent, some are character order dependent, some are both character usable. Cards work a similar way, and there is a mechanic of position switching. The game requires a bit of understanding what things do, and each card can be enhanced with a gem that augment or change how they work. It is a nice take on deck builders I've played and it's definitely offering a challenge since focusing on one character can destroy a run, but it reminds me tunnel vision can often lead to shortfalls.

It reminds me of the RTS RPGs I used to play in Warcraft 3. It takes some time to get used to, but not much scratches that itch.

*There is some notable controversies on launch, the frame rate absolutely tanking, optional DLC items that you can get in game by just playing the game. I recommend the game, I bought the 80 dollar version which includes a slightly lighter weight tent then the first one you find for the camping mechanic, and a harpy lure, character customization token, a get out of jail key, a revive, a pawn inclination token, and a full character affinity token (not obtainable in game, but there's another item that does the same thing)*

Outside of those, the classes have been more focused for better or worse. Traversal is easy, and varied. There are a lot of events inbetween zones, more often and varied then the first game. Dramatic zone differences and locales with typing of enemies well varied. Good character customization, a lot of options and tools. Hours of gameplay. Good vistas and views. Bigger map. Better Pawn AI (it's a big improvement over the first one, but it's still AI).

Easy to pick up, hard to put down. I had a blast learning moves, follow ups, timings, finding secrets, and tech. Movement on a keyboard felt klunky, but was doable. Combat is not the star of the show, but that's alright because articulation to destination is the lime light on our goat-bunny-cat showstopper.

A cell shaded deck builder with many facets. Choosing from 1 of 3 themed groups, then run a gauntlet of ever increasing peril and rewards. All choices are set in stone, but the game is forgiving and the cunning can use their foes attacks against them.

TL;DR this game requires Reading.

A fun game with a good sprite work, thoughtful gimmick mechanics, and visual spectacle. The in game sprite work of fights are more interesting to me then the scenes, but the boss fights are difficult only because that is where the most distracting spritework truly shines.

Risk of Rain in it's original glory (and a modern format out the box), with new sprite work, juicy pixel goodness, and a better multiplayer connectivity. If you enjoyed the original, this is a must have. It's hard to believe two people with a passion started this.

A glorious kindling of the synapses with visual spectacle formed of rockets, lasers, bullets... and money after each mission. There's also some voice acting that flesh out characters, and motives of characters, to the point I forgot it's just a scripted response.
