Come one, come all, a hero shooter. Why are you playing a hero shooter? You never play hero shooters. You don't even have two hours in the game!

I just play it to spend time with my friends. Does that make it worth it? Yeah. It's free. I can get over it.

But I can not understand how competitive sweaty and toxic people get. I thought I left that behind on MW2 Xbox lobbies. Maybe this is a good game but the community is atrocious, overly competitive, and just plain un-sportsmanlike. Maybe I'm behind the times. There is something about the formula that just changes people when they play.

Somehow I see this as being worse than other hero shooters because not only do you have the sweaty try hards, but you have the comic book nerd crowd and it's free for your average 10 year old squeaker to play in but thats mere speculation.

tl;dr get this if your friends wanna spend time with you but I wouldn't bother spending serious time in it. All you'll get is frustrated and angy when your skills plateau or you have a bad game. Play it to have fun shooting comic book characters. Or be like me and be a Jeff main and take nothing seriously.

The game, ostentibly named 'Fleet Command', is sidlining the concept and aspect of 'fleet command' in favor of 'small skirmish actions'.

Lets prioritize sweaty multiplayer that is impossible to get into and make the individual battles meaningless to any sort of scale or strategic picture. "People have thousands of hours" isn't unusual, in fact thats part the problem with the direction you opted to go. I got Nebulous because of the promise of those large scale fleet aspects like rule the waves or CMO. I was incredibly impressed with progress and back line considerations in the dev logs and got it a month ago.

But no. Just like what happened to Hearts of Iron and Total War. You give in to the whinging multiplayer sweat lords instead of the game you promised to make. I kept a close eye on this for years. I'm incredibly disapppointed. You are a wonderful dev with a wonderful product and your communication has been outstanding. This is early access. You'll have to get your save wiped a couple of times until it releases. The dozens of hours of progress are the price I pay to play and help test and guide this product through development. I lost many a rimworld save in its development. Your outstanding ethic is the reason I took a risk on an early access title with an impressive playable product and active progress towards the things I wanted to see. I regret this decision not even a month later. CMO Aurora and Rule the waves are niche games without the need of try hard multiplayer lobbies and an outstanding singleplayer experince. They don't /have/ much of a tactical side if any. Let me get attached to this old battle scarred reserve frigate that survive the whole war. Or my brand new cruiser gets sunk a day into the war. A task force that went against impossible odds and won. This is all set up by a strategic picture that makes battles actually matter with context of the battle space around then. Then you get into the tactical picture and get those battle actions. A beautiful side project. Planning out your forces. Applying strategic thinking and the larger decisions you've made.

I want a refund. At least until the game I was looking for starts to be back in production. Don't go for this is you were looking forward to the high level gameplay it promised. It's been pushed back in favor of multiplayer.

Exactly what I'd expect from a Double Fine title, much less an early access game by Double Fine, much less one that's been in early access for two years. I was gifted this by a friend. All three of us refunded it after half an hour. The party system listed different hosts for different people, joining a game rarely worked for just one of us. When one of us was able to get in we were getting horrible 4 to 5 FPS and was absolutely unplayable. I only ever heard about it before, never saw youtube videos nor cared to play it, so this was my truly first experience. I'm refunding and never looking back. Double Fine is using youtube videos of very early builds to build sales and has the balls to charge more than 5 dollars for this crappy console port. Great concept on paper. Looks fun if it would work, but I don't have high hopes. Do not waste your money until you do your research and they've dropped the price to 5 or 10 dollars and made it playable [again] (Though I wouldn't know.).
