It's by far my most regretted impulse purchase and I own a PS Vita. I wish I could still refund this.

Atrocious. Terrible. Boring. Incomprehensible. Easy. Off-putting.

These are the first 10 hours of Troubleshooter. Gotta be honest, it was tough. If it wasn't for my buddy swearing that it gets better I'd have given up.

Boy am I glad I didn't. After you survive the beginning you get possibly the best game of its genre with insane amounts of depth and unrealistically dedicated development team.

Don't go into it expecting a nu-xcom-like, the only similarities would be the cover system and existence of guns. This is a tactical JRPG on par with the best of them. It's not perfect, of course, there are some smaller or bigger annoyances here and there, but it's definitely worth your time.

Even after 60 hours, when you think you're nearly done, the game throws new mechanics at you. Go play pokemon with the local wildlife and build yourself a robot

If you're not a fan of both nu-XCOM and 40k, just walk away.
If you are, however, then you'll find a lot to like here.
Gameplay-wise, it's just a simpler XCOM, not much to say that can't be find in countless other reviews.
Some design choices can be questionable, but overall it holds together, more or less.
At this point the game is quite buggy - enemies disappear under the floor and the starmap keeps lying to me that I won't reach a mission in time, to name a few.
Performance is simply atrocious, the game is lagging in the same way regardless of settings, even including the resolution - it's the same in 1600x900 and in 3440x1440. Smells like Denuvo.

Go from micromanagement hell to automation heaven.
Ravage the planet and strip it free of its resources.
Pollute everything.
Murder indigenous lifeforms.
Good game.

November 2021 EDIT:
Streum did not disappoint. They fixed the most annoying issues with the game and made it definitely worth a playthrough

ORIGINAL:
I really want to like this game, but unfortunately I can't recommend it in its current state - regardless of settings the game is stuttering like crazy. FOV for ultrawide also seems a bit broken, it's vomit-inducing.

But there's a lot of promise there, so instead of refunding I'll wait for a few patches. Considering their previous 40k game Streum seems like a studio that would benefit from a few months of Early Access releases, or a closed beta at least, to get some feedback and polish the game before release for a change.

Amazing spiritual successor to RE4. Blends its action-oriented gameplay with RE8's first person perspective really well.

Similarly to RE4, it's leaning more heavily on the action side of survivial horror and isn't exactly all that scary, with the exception of one chapter. Even the weapon progression is very similar to RE4 with some old friends coming back.

One thing it seems to be missing is an expanded Mercenaries mode, the one available seems slapped on as an afterthought.

Greetings, Reader, and may the blessings of the Omnissiah be upon you.

Reading this, you're probably wondering if you should embark on an expedition similar to ours. I can certainly state that you should.

Since wasting blessed cogitator space on redundant information is a slight upon the Machine God, I will refrain from stating the general description of our mission, and even omit all of its upsides, focusing instead on the baffling and negative aspects of it. As it is written in the Book of Quality Development, it is valuable to focus on always improving one's knowledge and understanding of their own craft, so that they may achieve greater heights.

Our expedition, eventful as it was, hasn't really challenged our cohort. We struggled during our first days, being unprepared for the horrors of the Necrons, but after few short ventures into the tombs we've managed to improve our abilities and equipment, focusing on optimisation. After enlisting the help of a fourth tech priest further voyages under the surface became almost trivial. Some of my less-augmented colleagues even succumbed to that feeling of monotony, instead making bets with the Skitarii if they could finish the assingment in one standard time unit, while also scanning and destroying all xeno-technology in sight. Regretful as it is to see servants of the Omnissiah succumb to such base desires as gambling, their proficiency allowed us to effectively stall the awakening of the tomb world. We've even extracted all the STCs lost in the tombs long before the planet reached its final quarter of the awakening process.

During our combat encounters with the vile Necrons, while we were doing the Omnissiah's work by burning purifying the place, some the jetpack-equipped enemies have made a mockery of our glorious square-based tactical displays by landing outside the boundaries of space and logic itself. One even landed inside a Canoptek Spyder, trying to create a horrifying construct to underline our morale by invoking images of the so-called "warp ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥", so feared by the troops. Those pathetic attempts to undermine our beliefs in how the universe works were, of course, swiftly met with copious amount of plasma fire and other assorted radiation.

I will also be sending a letter to the Fabricator General on Mars, asking why do we still keep producing inferior equipment pieces for the use of some of our tech priests. I understand that various disciplines customize their augmentations to better fit their preferred role, which is logical. Some equipment pieces, however, are directly inferior to others, putting into question the value of resources spent on their production.

I have had the blessed privilege of serving as a scribe for some of the meeting in the command room. Though someone as lowly as me is in no position to question the logic of the most distinguished servants of the Omnissiah, my internal logic circuits couldn't comprehend the way that the discussions unfolded - members of the council were asking the Superior to consider their proposals after they had already agreed to it.

Do not be discouraged by these small matters, Reader. Our expedition was a very beneficial experience, it was resources well spent. Even when the vile xenos trembled before the might of the Omnissiah the pleasure centers of our biological control units were flooded with positive hormones. While it is our duty to enforce the will of the Machine God, we too can allow ourselves a little pleasure at the sight of numerous xenos being incinerated by a heavy flamer.
