This game was my favourite game in VR, until they made the „quest port“. The devs focused all their energy on the quest port and stopped the needed work on performance updates for the live build. They promised to start working on updates for better performance once the port is completed. But in the same instance, they announced that the quest port will be released with a better performance patch. Well, the perfomance got better, but to what cost? They made a major graphical and sound downgrade. It wasn‘t really a quest „port“, it was a single downgrade of the whole game wich made it possible to run on the quest. It is the worst design decision i‘ve ever experienced in the gaming industry. On one hand I can understand the devs. It seems like they get sponosred by Oculus, but they lost their main clientele - Gamers who love tacical games. In comparison to other VR shooters, they were the only one with a low ttk, an real tactical depth, where gear and equipment mattered. Ofc. they got a greater playerbase now, but it‘s mostly kids who are playing non tactical game modes and start to teamkill just for fun. Fun fact: Before there was the quest port version, it was a much smaller player base, but people treated eachother with respect and you would recognize someone here and there from matches before. Since the new version is out, you rarely find „old“ PCVR players. But all the sudden, I found many of them playing Contractors, even it has a longer ttk and worse character models, the sound and graphics are more appealing.

I hope, the devs will change the direction of their design strategies and the players will return when its done. Because from the viewpoint of version 1.7, the game had great potential.

Bought the game on a special offer for 4,99 €. The graphics are good and the gameplay is ok, but I got the game to play with a friend on coop. What can I tell you about coop? Not much, because there are only asia servers available with a ping over 300 ms. There are NA and EU servers listed, but their status is permanently on "waiting". Even though we had a high ping showing up, we gave it a try. After 6 attempts to play coop, we gave up. Even we could play for some minutes, we just got disconnected and had to restart from the beginning. We refunded the game...
