Shadowkeep 2 - Electric Boogaloo

This feels like an ad for the next expansion.

Bad story, poor game direction, rushed development, anemic content, extreme greed.

I never leave reviews, but this DLC is just full of "what could have beens". The story is poorly written. It brings up some interesting questions and then just never answers them. The dialogue is cringy at best, and childish at worst, If I wanted to watch a reddit re-enacment of what a marvel movie should be in destiny, this would be it.
The loot is terrible, I don't care much for the fact that gun models are re-used, but that all but a few weapons are re-used models? Really? especially with the price increase, this is not worth it at all. I got this for 83 dollars and it was still not worth it. This felt like an expensive ad for The Final Shape.

Now onto Strand: its a very fun ability to use. Glad that it didn't come out as busted as Stasis did. But it doesn't feel good to use. The grapple is too expensive to use, and having to charge up 3 independent melees feels bad, especially when they are weak on their own. They should be similar to Ophidia Spathe, where they all come back at once but with a beefy cooldown. Next up, suspend. Who's idea was it to even allow suspend to work in PVP??? I'd much rather get 1HKO'd by an ability than suspended. Sure, its not that effective, but the sheer fact that you can prevent someone from playing the game almost entirely is baffling. Its unfun, its bad game design. I thought they learned this lesson with stasis.

While on the topic of PVP, they double downed on SBMM in PVP. While its important to give the less-skilled players a fighting chance, it shouldn't come at the enjoyment of the game to the other players. The meta is at a really low point, nothing but ability spam.

The entirety of this DLC feels rushed. The pacing the story is completely off. The use of terms and development much sooner than expected in the story mode. Lots of repeated and/or unconnected textures where it is clearly visible without having to look specifically for it, Lots of cracks in Neomuna where you can glimpse outside of the map. Some places they just stopped right there and you can just OOB by walking to the edge. In the final boss fight, they even use the Khovov as a placeholder and didn't even switch it to what it was supposed to be. The loadout system is completely rushed too! the UX is terrible! How you have to cycle through each name, symbol, and color rather than having a dropdown. Complete lack of polish!

Bungie stated so themselves that they are pushing for the minimally viable product. The standard is set super low and they want to keep it that way. (They keep pushing it down too, like how they didn't introduce a new armor set with this yearly expansion like they said they would with every year) What destiny needs right now is for people to stop spending money on it and encourage Bungie to spend more resources on Destiny. Realistically, this won't happen. Hoping for the upcoming Riot Games project will be the competitor Destiny needs.

Bungie is alos now charging more for everything. Now with the event passes during events, dungeons being sold separately, and annual DLCs costing more than previous years. During all of this, the quality of the content has greatly diminished and the quantity has as well. Their greed even extends to character boosts!

This is objectively a bad expansion, especially with the price. That is not to say that it is not enjoyable, but I get the same amount of enjoyment out of playing in patrol. At the end of the day, its Destiny, so it is always going to be carried by the art design, music, and gunplay.

Bungie needs to do better.
Bunges HAS to do better.

overall, the game is very fun. this is especially true with friends.
the developers are constantly adding new content.
sadly, the community is very toxic both in game and on forums.
