It lives up to the hype.

Contrary to the majority of reviews, the game ran perfectly fine. No crashes or issues.

About a fourth of the way into this game, I lost all hope in humanity and the will to live.

10/10, would get caught trying to bang the king's wife, again.

So realistic my left foot was amputated after acquiring trench foot.

10.1/10 Would risk right foot.

I'm not much for Japanese games, but this one is relatively fun.

Hillbilly Sim 2014 should be the title. Seeing as there is no influx of population from any outside source other than a set of 4 families, inbreeding is bound to be a foreseeable problem at later years in this game. Genetic malformations, learning disabilities, and at some point, everyone's bound to be each other's cousin. I suppose it's all fine and dandy if you don't think about it.

Anyways, down to the review.

This is an amusingly solid game for its "Beta" stages. You can go about playing it several different ways.

From watching your young group of settlers survive the harshest winters and storms, to seeing as your decisions have made them thrive as they prepare to fight off the Red Coats after throwing their tea into the harbor, or gaze in awe as every single last one of them dies from starvation, child birth, cold, and a number of random events, and know that this massive loss of life was due simply to your own incompetence.

If you would like to commit mass genocide of a people by depriving them from the food they have harvested, and the wood they have chopped. Watch as their frozen malnutritioned corpses drop!

The possibilities are endless!

Despite it having many choices, the lack of Native Americans raiding my village was rather disapointing.
User Interface: 10/10
You can be a minimalist, or clutter the ♥♥♥♥ out of your screen with stuff.
Visuals: 6/10
Well polished, but not enough detail when your favorite townie dies at child birth.

I give this game my blessing. Do give this dev your money.

Mod's great. This standalone has it beat in visuals, UI, and customization in terms of the content that presently exists. However, due to its lack in content at its current stage, non-existant insentive to play co-operatively, and glitches which at times are game breaking(such as clipping into a wall to slaughter anyone inside a house).
