Counter-Strike: Global Offensive took the long way to success. It started off with a number of significant flaws, but with time and some substantial patches, has become one of the most-played games on Steam and one of the best PC games you can play.

As usual, the people who know the game best are the ones who spend every night and most weekends in the trenches, defusing bombs, shooting chickens, and desperately hunting for knives. Also as usual, the people who love the game most are also the ones who have the most complicated relationship with it. Play a game enough, and even if you love it, part of you will probably start to loathe it. In a loving way. If that makes sense.

CS:GO is the only game that you can't just pick up and get good at in a week or two. There is always room to improve. It's simple, realistic, strategic and very competitive. No power-ups, no regenerating health, no enemy dots showing you where they are on the map (unless your teammate spots one it shows up until they cant view them anymore), and etcetera. Getting a kill is a lot more satisfying then any other title because once you die, that's it. No respawning until the next round. It requires your full attention. It makes you want to keep playing and makes you want to get better. You cant just run around the map fragging people. Also, it's a very big on team strategy it forces you to be attentive to “call outs" from your teammates and forces you to work together. its the closest FPS that can actually be called a sport. Once you try it, no other FPS will ever give you more satisfaction. They simply become boring and only fun for about a hour or two. In CS:GO it's not uncommon to be playing from the time you wake up till the time you fall asleep.

Counter Strike will never die, it's been out since 1.5 which came out In 2000. It's been 20 years and all they really did to the game is update the graphics and nerf the weapons some.

CS:GO will always be the best fps of all time.
