Been playing Civ since the original on floppy disk. Every version had it's up's and down's.

I enjoy some of the new features in this one, like the evolving civilizations, the overbuilding, the towns, etc.

I typically would play on standard pace, or occasionally epic, and the previous Civ's felt really good at this speed. Civ 7 at standard pace feels rushed. I don't feel like I can get in depth into my Civ, and it feels like the game is flying by. I've done 2 games now at standard pace, and I did it in 22 hours, that feels really fast.

I miss the huge map sizes from previous games, those really need to make a comeback, the largest map size (standard) feels really cramped unless you drop the number of other Civ's.

The map design also has some issues, the forced "distant lands" mechanic in the Exploration age makes for some really interesting forced map features that wouldn't exist in previous Civs.

The constant spam to assign resources to cities, when no new ones are available, turns it a non-productive click through menu practically every turn, and the fact you can't assign resources to the very cities they come from if they aren't connected to the trade network doesn't make any sense, since those resources are ALREADY in that city.

The late game lag is mostly gone, but I am guessing that is due to the Age system allowing a cleanup of the map every 150 turns.

It's a brand new release, and I hope the devs tweak some of the these features, let us adjust more in the game creation, let us have the bigger maps back, let us enjoy the scenery on a standard paced game.

You did alot well in this release, but it still needs work!

If you like a dark survival city builder. This is the game for you.

I hope they add more scenarios, there are currently 3, but the difficulty of the game keeps you from blowing through them.

This came may seem boring when you look at it at first. But once you begin playing it, running jobs, tuning to your favorite internet radio station and such you realize you are spending hours driving a truck. Tons of fun, was alot better then I expected and definately worth any steam sale price you are likely looking at if for right now.
